Distribution packages

debootstick is part of Debian, since july, 2015. It is therefore available from Debian Stretch and in recent Ubuntu distributions (since 15.10, within the 'universe' component).

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt install debootstick

Installation from PPA (Ubuntu)

A PPA is available if you are using a recent Ubuntu. Packages there are sometimes more up-to-date (and sometimes more experimental) than the package of the distribution.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:debootstick/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt install debootstick

Installation from source

If you want to install debootstick in older systems or get the latest improvements, you can clone this repository. Then, for a regular install, type make install as root; or, from version 2.8, you can also run ./debootstick from the source directory directly.
