Killzone PC v0.1.2 alpha
Third alpha. Download Killzone-PC-v0.1.2-alpha.zip below and copy it over your old folder; saves (disc\mc0) and settings (killzone.ini) stay.
New
- Ultrawide support (#7). In the launcher's Graphics tab, set Aspect ratio to "Ultrawide: match window" (or a fixed 21:9 / 32:9). You see more of the world at the sides, the HUD stays in the middle 16:9 part, and menus and movies get side bars
- Toggle sprint option (#6). Controls tab, Sprint, "Press to toggle". Press once and you keep sprinting until you press again or stop moving. The original game is hold to sprint, so hold stays the default
- The sniper scope fix from the last build is more solid now. Under heavy CPU load it could still slip for a frame
Still known
- Can lock up on level 2 around the second sniper (#4). If it happens to you, please attach
killzone.logto that issue - Frame rate drops and some stutter in big fights
- Menus and the loading screen can jitter a bit
- Ultrawide has only been tested with the Direct3D 11 renderer so far
Killzone PC v0.1.1 alpha
Second alpha. Download Killzone-PC-v0.1.1-alpha.zip below. To update, copy the new files over your old folder; your saves (disc\mc0) and settings (killzone.ini) stay.
Fixed and added
- Sniper scope aims properly with the mouse now. No more snapping back to the centre or the view jumping (#3)
- New "Skip intro movies" option in the launcher's Display tab. It skips the long intro movie; the logos still show (#5)
- On a controller, the zoom button toggles like the original again instead of having to be held (#6)
- Fixed a rare freeze at startup where the game never got past loading
Still known
- Can lock up on level 2 around the second sniper (#4). If it happens to you, please attach
killzone.logto that issue - Sprint on a controller is being looked at (#6)
- Frame rate drops and some stutter in big fights
- Menus and the loading screen can jitter a bit
Setup is the same as before: run killzone.exe and point it at your own US Killzone .iso (SCUS-97402). Details are in README.txt.
Killzone PC v0.1.0 alpha
First public build. It's an alpha, so expect bugs, but it plays.
How to play
- Download
Killzone-PC-v0.1.0-alpha.zipbelow and unzip it anywhere. - Run
killzone.exeand point the launcher at your own Killzone .iso. It has to be the US version (SCUS-97402). - Pick your settings and hit Play.
No game files are included. You need your own disc image. You also need Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit), a CPU with AVX2 and a GPU that does DX11, DX12 or Vulkan. The Visual C++ runtime is already in the folder.
Controls and settings are in README.txt inside the zip. Mouse and keyboard work out of the box, and so do controllers.
Known problems
- Sniper scope snaps back to the centre and jumps when you move the mouse hard (#3)
- Can lock up on level 2 around the second sniper (#4)
- Intro movies can't be skipped yet (#5)
- Frame rate drops and some stutter in big fights
- Menus and the loading screen can jitter a bit
- Only the first mission has had real testing so far
The first three are being worked on now.
If it crashes or freezes, open an issue and attach killzone.log from the game folder, plus what level you were on and what you were doing.
