Added

  • Each action in report.json carries a kind, the kind of work it is: bump, code, infrastructure, credential, wait or decide. A pipeline or a dashboard can split the fix list into the lists people work from.

  • A component can import a SARIF file another tool wrote, with components[].imports naming the control and the file. Its findings are ranked by the component's exposure and criticality and judged by the same gate. A file written for another commit stops the run, and one that states no commit is listed as an unbound-imports caveat.

Changed

  • The Caveats block names each caveat by the kind config.gate.failOnCaveats takes, such as unread-files or not-checked, and its heading names that setting, so a kind copied from a row into it makes that caveat fail the run.

  • Fix First names the lowest release that fixes a finding when the advisory lists one fix per release line. flask 2.0.1 → 2.3.2 +1, where +1 counted a second fixed release, now reads flask 2.0.1 → 2.2.5, and the compact view and the HTML report name the same release.

  • Fix First names the package on every dependency finding. A row that read fix upgrade to 3.0.18-1~deb12u2 now reads libssl3 3.0.14-1~deb12u2 → 3.0.18-1~deb12u2, and one with no release reads openssl 3.0.14 · fix no upgrade published. --view compact reads libssl3 → 3.0.18-1~deb12u2, and the same CVE in two packages of an image prints as two rows that name different packages.

  • Breaking: draugr validate refuses a publisher field its kind does not read. It refuses dir on github, a report format the kind does not deliver, such as html on github, and a file publisher with no dir. Remove the field or add the dir; the descriptor reference lists the fields each kind reads under Publisher fields.

Fixed

  • The github publisher dismisses the code scanning alert of every finding accepted in Draugr. It dismisses the alert as won't fix, with the reason and who accepted it in the comment, because code scanning ignores SARIF suppressions and these alerts stayed open. An alert Draugr dismissed reopens when its finding is no longer accepted, and one a person dismissed is left alone.

  • draugr scan --help and the CLI reference list unbound-imports among the kinds of caveat --fail-on-caveats takes.

  • An editor using the Saga schema accepts the publisher values draugr validate accepts: a numeric GitLab project id in repo, and numbers in commit, project and a host's auth.header. It flags a field on a kind that does not read it, the same field draugr validate refuses.

  • A run narrowed with --controls or --components no longer lists an exclusion or a VEX statement as unmatched when its findings were in the part that did not run. A narrowed run checks no exclusion rule, and checks a VEX statement only when everything it could match was scanned. Run without those flags to check all of them.

  • A statement from config.vexSources that matched a finding in one component is no longer listed as unmatched under the other components.
