Image findings say which image and which operating system they came from, and a new
gitlab-container-scanningreport files them where GitLab looks for them.GitLab routes findings by report type — its deduplication, its merge-request widget and its
approval policies all key on it. Container findings previously arrived only through Code
Quality, so a container-scanning approval policy looked in a report that did not exist and
found nothing, which reads as a clean image.draugr scan draugr.saga.yaml -o out/ --report gitlab-container-scanning
The image reference and the operating system are now fields on every image finding, in the
report and in the SARIF, sodraugr diffand every platform format still have them on the
second read. A finding whose image has no identifiable distribution — scratch, distroless — is
left out of this report rather than given an invented one, and still reaches a reviewer through
gitlab-codequality.
Changed
- Image scans read Trivy's JSON rather than its SARIF, which is where the package identity and
the operating system are. Image findings now carry the same structured package — name, version,
the version that fixes it, and a purl — that dependency findings already did.
