The desktop follows your web account's plan — once this computer is connected to a web account, its plan is the account's: Professional, its trial, or Community.

Platform Download
macOS (Apple Silicon + Intel) DrawMode-macOS-0.1.67-universal.dmg
Windows (10/11, x64 + ARM) DrawMode-Windows-0.1.67-x64.exe
Linux x86_64 .deb · .rpm · .AppImage
Linux arm64 .AppImage
What's new
  • The desktop follows your web account's plan. A connected desktop shows the account's own plan and,
on a trial, counts down the account's trial. A desktop that isn't connected keeps its own 14-day trial.
  • Small fixes and improvements.
Installing on macOS

Open the .dmg and drag DrawMode to Applications.

Signed with a Developer ID, notarized by Apple and stapled, so it opens normally — no right-click-to-open, no "unidentified developer". One disk image covers Apple Silicon and Intel.

Installing on Windows

Run the .exe. It installs for your user only, so it needs no administrator rights, and it works on both Intel/AMD and ARM machines (Windows runs the x64 build on ARM transparently).

You will see "Windows protected your PC" on first run — that is SmartScreen reacting to an unrecognised publisher, not a problem with the download. Choose More info → Run anyway. Code signing is on the roadmap.

Installing on Linux

The .deb or .rpm is the easier path — it resolves its own dependencies and sets up the sandbox for you:

sudo apt install ./DrawMode-Linux-0.1.67-amd64.deb # Debian, Ubuntu
sudo dnf install ./DrawMode-Linux-0.1.67-x86_64.rpm # Fedora, RHEL

The AppImage runs anywhere and needs no root, but the format itself has three prerequisites on a
stock Ubuntu. Each shows a clear error, so you only need the row you hit:

chmod +x DrawMode-Linux-0.1.67-x86_64.AppImage
./DrawMode-Linux-0.1.67-x86_64.AppImage
If launching fails with Run
AppImages require FUSE to run sudo apt install libfuse2t64 (libfuse2 on 22.04)
error while loading shared libraries: libz.so sudo apt install zlib1g-dev (arm64 only)
The SUID sandbox helper binary was found, but is not configured correctly sudo sysctl kernel.apparmor_restrict_unprivileged_userns=0

The last is Ubuntu 23.10+ restricting user namespaces, which Chromium's sandbox needs; persist it with
echo 'kernel.apparmor_restrict_unprivileged_userns=0' | sudo tee /etc/sysctl.d/99-appimage.conf. The
.deb and .rpm need none of this. arm64 is AppImage-only: electron-builder's deb/rpm targets need a bundled fpm that has no non-amd64 build.

Notes
  • Your API key is kept in the OS keychain — Keychain on macOS, the credential store on Windows,
gnome-keyring or kwallet on Linux. On a Linux desktop with neither, the key cannot be saved and the app
    says so in its log.
  • Diagrams are plain files in a folder you choose, so they work with Dropbox, Git, or anything else.
  • DRAWMODE_NO_TELEMETRY=1 suppresses the UUID without stopping update checks — for a managed rollout
that wants version notices but no identifier.

The header fits a narrow window — as the window narrows, the search box shrinks, the menus drop to their icons, then the search box steps aside, and only then is the project name cut short, so nothing overlaps.

  • The header fits a narrow window. The search box shrinks first, then the menus and New Diagram show
their icons only, then the search box steps aside; the project name is the last thing cut. Widen the
window and the labels come back.
