Lineweb Social moves from alpha to its first production-shaped public beta.

Highlights:

  • modern Laravel-native community core with profiles, Spaces, chronological feeds, messaging, events, media, polls, moderation, privacy, and platform administration
  • documented extension contracts and compatibility checks
  • production deployment hardening, baseline browser security headers, and MariaDB migration coverage
  • refreshed public documentation and beta support boundaries

This is suitable for evaluation and controlled community pilots. It is not yet a stable 1.0 release.

@drewmt drewmt released this 20 Jul 17:35

First public alpha of Lineweb Social: a Laravel-native, self-hosted foundation for modern communities and social products.

Included in this preview:

  • verified accounts with passkeys and two-factor authentication
  • public, private, and hidden Spaces with role-aware membership and invitations
  • chronological posts and comments
  • privacy-aware profiles and People discovery
  • mute, block, reporting, moderation, and append-only audit boundaries
  • responsive desktop and mobile social interface
  • documented extension-manifest and platform-architecture foundations

Validated with 92 PHPUnit tests and 631 assertions, Pint, PHPStan, ESLint, Prettier, TypeScript, a production Vite build, dependency audits, and the public GitHub Actions pipeline on PHP 8.3.

This is an early alpha for local evaluation and community feedback. It is not yet recommended for production deployment. Messaging, media, notifications, full content search, data export/deletion, paginated full conversations, and a supported extension lifecycle remain future work.
