A claim, a second agent refused, an edit blocked before the write, a purchase that costs nothing the second time, a reversed decision holding the work under it — then the store is deleted and you watch every one of those stop. Every line is a real call, not a transcript.

What is new

• knos demo — the playground, local. There is no hosted one and there will not be: nothing on the read path touches a network, and that is a test rather than a promise.
• The memory decides whether money moves. knos.gate runs before any purchase: it refuses to spend while somebody holds the topic, refuses while the work rests on a reversed decision, serves what was already bought for nothing, and only otherwise buys. 5.41x more expensive without the store, over an ordinary day of five agents — python scripts/spend.py.
• knos changed reverses a decision and holds everything reasoned from it — the edit refused, the purchase refused — until knos reconsider. The old wording is archived, not dropped. knos held lists what is waiting.
• knos restore rebuilds a repo’s decisions from the .knos/decisions.md it commits, so a fresh clone on a machine that has never run knos carries them. Claims deliberately do not restore.
• Twelve ablation arms, seeded and reproducible — python scripts/ablation.py.
• Judge guide, verification, architecture, memory model and an evidence ledger under docs/.

Fixed

The gate served the wrong asset. It searched rather than reading the exact topic, so a store holding market brief: BTC answered a request for market brief: ETH — for free, with a real receipt attached. Saving a cent by returning something true about a different subject is worse than paying. Pinned by tests/test_gate.py -k near_neighbour.
