New Commands

  • todos command — Scan your codebase for TODO, FIXME, HACK, and other marker comments. Language-aware parsing for Go, JS/TS, Python, Ruby, Rust, and more. Supports table, JSON, and YAML output formats with glob-based include/exclude filters.

New Features

  • PR-driven task completion workflow — New pr-review workflow mode where --done sets tasks to in-review instead of completed. Link PRs to tasks with taskmd set --add-pr <url>. Includes a GitHub Action to automatically mark tasks completed when their PR merges.
  • Task type field — New optional type field in task frontmatter (feature, bug, improvement, chore, docs). Set with taskmd set --type <value> and filter with taskmd list --type bug.
  • MCPB artifact — Releases now include an .mcpb bundle for one-click MCP server installation in desktop apps like Claude for macOS.

CLI Improvements

  • Positional task ID in set command — taskmd set 148 --priority low now works as shorthand for taskmd set --task-id 148 --priority low.
  • Smarter track grouping — The tracks command now groups tasks connected by dependency chains, not just shared scopes, producing more meaningful work streams.
  • Mixed change type commit messages — The commit-msg command now handles commits with multiple types of task changes in a single message (e.g., completing some tasks while starting others).

Infrastructure

  • Git pre-commit hook — New .githooks/pre-commit hook runs taskmd validate before each commit, preventing invalid task files from being checked in.
  • Automatic docs publishing — The docs site now automatically redeploys when a new release is created.
  • Claude Code /import-todos skill — Converts TODO comments found by the todos command into trackable task files.
