New Features

• taskmd status command — Lightweight metadata lookup that returns only frontmatter fields (id, title, status, priority, effort, tags, etc.) without body content. Supports text, JSON, and YAML output formats. Also available via MCP tool and Claude Code plugin skill.
• Jira sync source — taskmd sync now supports Jira as a sync source, fetching issues from Jira projects and mapping them to local taskmd task files. Supports JQL filtering, field mapping, and API token authentication.
• external_id field — New optional frontmatter field for tracking synced tasks back to their source system (GitHub, Jira, etc.). Sync writer now uses external_id instead of ad-hoc sync_id.

Bug Fixes

• Fixed sync ID collisions — Synced tasks could previously receive IDs that collided with existing project tasks. ID scanning now covers the entire project root instead of just the sync output directory.
• Fixed context resolution bugs — Resolved issues in task context resolution logic with improved test coverage.

Improvements

• Specification updates — Task ID format is now more flexible (supports 001, 42, cli-049, etc.). Unknown frontmatter fields are silently ignored and preserved. Spec documentation deduplicated across CLI template and docs site.
• Claude Code plugin — Refactored plugin architecture with separate MCP-based plugin. Registered on Claude Code marketplace.
