The screen

Fast Lane has five tabs. Switch with 1–5, or tab and shift+tab. Everywhere, R refreshes repos and checks for new activity now, ? shows extra help and where the config lives, and q quits. Lists move with ↑/↓ or j/k, pgup/pgdn, and g/G for the top and bottom.

The bottom line shows the keys for whatever you're looking at, and status messages such as what the last poll found.

1 Events

Every open pull request, issue, Dependabot alert and code scanning alert on the repos you watch, plus inbox items from repos you don't, newest activity first. Each row shows the kind (with alert severity), repo, number, title, age and the state of its Claude session.

A ● marks an item that's new or changed since you last acted on it, and a tag such as [CI failed] or [changes requested] says what changed (see Triggers).

The Events tab

Key Does
enter Start Claude on the item. You see its instructions first; edit them if you like and press ctrl+s. If a session is already working on it, jumps there instead.
s Jump to the item's session
o Open the item in your browser
x Hide the item until it changes again

2 Sessions

Every Claude session, with its status, cost, and live transcript. Statuses: ◌ queued, ● preparing or running, ! needs you, ✓ done, ✗ failed, and stopped. The header above the transcript shows the repo, item, model and effort, and where it runs.

The Sessions tab: Claude fixing a CI failure, step by step

Key Does
enter Answer the session's pending question or permission request, or reply to a finished session to keep going
x Stop a running session
D Delete a finished session, its transcript and its worktree
o Open the session's item in your browser
pgup / pgdn Scroll the transcript
f Follow the end of the transcript again

3 Repos

Your repos, your starred repos and repos where you have open PRs. Flags show auto (auto-run on) or FULL (full auto), local (a local checkout was found), how many kinds are watched, ★ starred, how many of your PRs are open, and private or archived repos.

The Repos tab

Key Does
space Watch or stop watching
a Cycle auto-run: off, on, full auto
e Choose which kinds of activity to watch, and the local checkout to use
r Open the repo's rules on the Rules tab
f Show all, watched, mine, starred, or with my PRs
/ Search; esc clears it
o Open the repo in your browser

4 Rules

The auto rules for one scope at a time: Global, or one watched repo. Rows are in the order they're tried. The top lines show the inbox and, for a repo, its auto-run setting.

The Rules tab

Key Does
[ / ] Switch scope
n New rule
enter Edit the rule
d Delete the rule
J / K Move the rule down or up among rules for the same key
c Copy the global rules into this repo, to customize them
a Cycle the repo's auto-run: off, on, full auto
i Cycle the inbox: auto-run, full auto, list only, off

In the rule form, ↑/↓ or tab moves between fields, ←/→ changes kind, trigger, severity and effort, space toggles checkboxes and actions, enter on Prompt opens the prompt editor (ctrl+r there resets it to the default), and ctrl+s saves.

5 Settings

Prerequisite checks with fixes, every setting, and an About section with the version and links. When a newer release of Fast Lane is out, the Version setting and a line above the key help at the bottom of every tab say so; enter on Version opens the release page. See Configuration for what each setting does.

The Settings tab

Key Does
enter Edit the setting, cycle it, or open the link
c Run the prerequisite checks again

Dialogs

Permission (Claude wants to run something that isn't pre-approved): y allow · a allow that kind of action for the rest of the session, when offered · n deny, then optionally tell Claude why · s view the session · esc decide later.

A question dialog

Reply (continue a finished session): type, alt+enter for a new line, enter to send.

A dialog you put off with esc comes back when you enter on the session.
