v0.1.0 — first release of the maintained fork
The first release of the maintained fork of digisamroc/eraser (inactive since early 2026). Eraser sends data-removal requests to 700+ data brokers from your own machine — requests go out from your mailbox, so no company ever holds your data. Free and open source.
📖 eraser.drumandbytes.dev — broker directory, opt-out guides, privacy authorities.
What's in this fork
Privacy & evidence
- Defaults to the GDPR template;
eraser exportbuilds an HTML/JSON evidence report (what was sent, every reply, and the brokers past their deadline) to attach to a complaint. - Worldwide privacy-authority reference — GDPR authorities for all 27 EU + EEA states, plus the FTC, California CPPA, and regulators in Canada, the UK, Switzerland, Australia, and more.
exportnames the one for your country.
Manual / no-SMTP mode
- Don't want to give any tool your email password?
send_mode: manual— Eraser renders the emails (eraser draft,eraser send --manual, or the web UI), you send them by hand, anderaser mark-sentrecords them.
Broker list
- The 763-broker database is embedded in the binary — no
data/directory needed.eraser update-brokersrefreshes it with a small conditional download.
Other
- Household multi-profile support (
--profile). - Web UI cleanup: Tailwind toolchain removed, templates de-duplicated.
