FocusPoint shows you exactly where your Sony camera focused, so you can tell
tack-sharp frames from near-misses without pixel-peeping every shot.
👉 Download FocusPoint-1.0.43-universal.dmg below, open it, and drag
FocusPoint to your Applications folder.
What it does
- Focus point overlay — draws the actual AF point your camera locked onto,
directly over the image, for DNG, ARW and JPG files - Folder browser — collapsible Lightroom-style directory tree
- Full EXIF — shutter, aperture, ISO, exposure compensation, metering,
lens, focal length, focus distance and AF mode - RGB histogram for every frame
- Star rating filter — show only rated keepers, or flip the operator to
show only unrated shots while you cull - Lightroom integration — send any photo to Lightroom Classic or Desktop in
one click, optionally applying a star or Pick flag on the way - Fast browsing — thumbnail strip, arrow-key navigation and background
preloading, built for folders with thousands of frames
Requirements
- macOS 11 or later
- Universal build — runs natively on Apple Silicon and Intel
- Sony cameras only for the focus point overlay. Other brands will open and
show metadata and the histogram, but the focus data lives in Sony-specific
maker notes, so there's no overlay for Canon, Nikon or others.
Notes on this release
- Correct shutter and exposure metadata for the Sony A1 II (ILCE-1M2) —
earlier versions reported the wrong shutter type on every file from that body - Built-in updates: FocusPoint checks for new versions on launch and can install
them for you, or check manually under Help → Check for Updates - Signed and notarized by Apple, so it opens without security warnings
Which file do I want?
Just the .dmg. The .zip and latest-mac.yml are used by the automatic
updater — you don't need to download them.
