The 1.0

MCP Nexus reaches 1.0: a stable, measurable, and documented routing and
discovery layer for MCP tools — with its own product page.

New in 1.0.0

  • Project website — https://dsk-dev-ai.github.io/mcp-nexus/, built from
site/ and deployed to GitHub Pages on every main change. Single-page
landing site: features, ASCII architecture diagram, the deterministic
benchmark table, quick start, and a 12-card documentation hub. Pure static —
    no build step.
  • GitHub Sponsors — repo Sponsor button via .github/FUNDING.yml,
package.json funding, and sponsor sections on the site and README.
  • Version center now reports 1.0.0 to the gateway, dashboard, and CLI.

What 1.0 means (came in with 0.9.0)

  • Streamable-HTTP + stdio gateways from one buildNexusMcpServer factory.
  • Full implemented nexus.* surface: register, remove, inspect, list, route,
    discover, invoke, approvals.
  • executionId correlated end-to-end (gateway ↔ dashboard activity).
  • Gemini + OpenRouter LLM providers (optional — zero-dependency core routes
    perfectly with no key).
  • Policy editing (PUT /api/policies + dashboard panel) and optional
    dashboard bearer-token auth (MCP_NEXUS_API_TOKEN).
  • Intent overlay resolving the §31 reference with zero hard failures:
    heuristic 100%, semantic 87.5%, hybrid 93.8%, large 100%.

Verification

  • 93 tests green (incl. §43 user-journey gates); typecheck clean;
    bench:latency strict gate green.
  • CI is gated on the benchmark: mcp-nexus benchmark exits 0 iff every
exact + semantic §31 task routes correctly. It passes on main.
  • Pages deploy + CI both green for this tag's commit.

CHANGELOG reflects 0.9.0 → 1.0.0.

v0.9.0 — Streamable-HTTP gateway, full nexus.* surface, editable policies, dual LLM providers

Choose a tag to compare

@dsk-dev-ai dsk-dev-ai released this 24 Sep 18:05

Highlights

  • Streamable-HTTP MCP gateway — mcp-nexus start:http (/mcp, per-MCP-Session-Id). One buildNexusMcpServer factory drives both stdio and HTTP.
  • Full nexus.* surface implemented: nexus.remove_tool, nexus.inspect_tool, and executionId surfaced end-to-end (gateway invoke ↔ dashboard activity).
  • LLM providers: Gemini (REST) + OpenRouter (OpenAI-compatible), behind one buildLlmRouter(config) factory.
  • Policy editing (§19): PUT /api/policies + editable dashboard panel (PolicyEngine.replace).
  • Dashboard auth (§20/§32): MCP_NEXUS_API_TOKEN bearer gate on /api/*; masked in /api/config.
  • Version center: single src/version.ts constant feeds gateway, dashboard, CLI.

CI fix — the failing 0.8.0 benchmark job is now green

Intent overlay (§25) extended with repo-organization + secret-scanning vocabulary. The §31 reference now routes perfectly with zero hard failures:

Provider Accuracy exact semantic ambiguous unknown
Heuristic 100% 15/15 4/4 5/5 8/8
Semantic 87.5% 15/15 4/4 2/5 7/8
Hybrid chain 93.8% 15/15 4/4 4/5 7/8
Large (50 tools) 100% 20/20 — — —

mcp-nexus benchmark exits 0 only when every exact + semantic task routes correctly — that is the CI gate, now passing on main.

Verification

  • 93 tests green (new gateway + §43 user-journey gates)
  • npm run typecheck clean; npm run bench:latency (sub-2 ms strict gate) green
  • CI: test (Node 22/24) + docker-build + benchmark all pass

Docs re-pinned (benchmarks.md, api.md, dashboard.md, performance.md), CHANGELOG 0.9.0, README quickstart updated, .env.example documents MCP_NEXUS_API_TOKEN.
