Package Maintainers - PLEASE READ

DMS 2.0 moves the project from AvengeMedia to Dux Labs. Package names, binary names and systemd units are unchanged. The build needs a few updates.

Breaking, Requires Change:

• The repositories moved to the duxlabs-dev org. DankMaterialShell is now dux-shell, dgop is dux-gop, danksearch is dux-search, dankcalendar is dux-calendar and dank-greeter is dux-greeter. The old URLs redirect, but update your sources.
• GitHub source archives now unpack under the new repo names, for example dux-shell-2.0.0/ and dux-gop-2.0.0/ instead of DankMaterialShell-2.0.0/ and dgop-2.0.0/. Update cd and %setup -n lines. dms-source.tar.gz from this release still unpacks as DankMaterialShell-2.0.0/.
• Building DMS needs Go 1.27.1 or newer. dux-gop, dux-calendar and dux-greeter need Go 1.27.
• The desktop files and icon follow the new app ID dev.duxlabs.shell:

• The shared QML submodule is now checked out at dux-qml-common/ instead of dank-qml-common/. git submodule update --init --recursive still works; update any script that names the directory.

Informational:

• Renaming packages to the new names is not required, but preferred: dms/dms-shell to dux-shell, dgop to dux-gop, dankcalendar to dux-calendar, dank-greeter to dux-greeter.
• User config, state and cache move from DankMaterialShell to dms on first run, and the old paths are left as symlinks. Nothing to do in packaging.
• Dux Calendar on Flathub keeps its com.danklinux.dankcalendar ID.
• The suite releases together: dux-gop, dux-search, dux-calendar, dux-greeter and dux-files v2.0.0 were released alongside DMS v2.0.0.

DMS 1.6 changes the way DMS is packaged, this changes the build process slightly.

Breaking, Requires Change:

• Quickshell UI is embedded in the binary and no longer needs to be installed to to /usr/share/quickshell/dms . Remove this step from your build script
• Add -tags withshell to the normal build tags. Run make sync-shell prior to running go build from the core directory
• Checkout must also checkout the dank-qml-common submodule before building. git submodule update --init --recursive
• dank-greeter is no longer a part of DMS, it is a standalone app: https://github.com/AvengeMedia/dank-greeter

Informational:

• dgop, curl are no longer hard dependencies. They can be removed from DMS dependency list
• All of the Dank Desktop packages are released together from this point forwards. For example, DMS v1.6.0 was released which also means dgop v1.6.0, dsearch v1.6.0, dcal v1.6.0, and dgreeter v1.6.0 were released alongisde it.
