The first official release of hooklook, a free, self-hosted inspector for testing and debugging webhook integrations, built with Go, SQLite, and a Vue frontend.
Included in v1
- One cookie-associated bin per browser, created on the first visit after a cookie check, with a capture URL that accepts any HTTP method and path.
- A live inspector page: request list and full request detail, updated through Server-Sent Events, with per-request deletion and clearing.
- Read-only guest access through invitation links, which the owner can turn on and off.
- Bins that expire three days after their last use, with limits of 500 requests and 100 MB of bodies per bin and 10 MB per capture, plus a store-wide capacity budget.
- Redaction of common credential-bearing headers before storage.
- Containerized deployment behind Caddy with TLS, GitHub Actions deployments by GHCR image digest, and verified SQLite backup and restore procedures.
- Prometheus metrics, structured logs shipped through Alloy to Loki, and provisioned Grafana dashboards: an operator view, synthetic and non-synthetic traffic views, and a limited public dashboard.
Getting started
See the v1 README for local setup and the documentation guide for the HTTP API, deployment, backups, and observability.
Operational notes
- Public ingress, TLS, and edge limits come from the separate hetzner-one repository, which must be deployed first.
- Alerting, request-detail caching, and off-host backup automation are deferred; see deferred work.
