LinkGuard 0.3.1
Pre-release
Pre-release
LinkGuard 0.3.1 is a small update. Behind the scenes, LinkGuard now knows far more scam websites.
Install or update
- Updating from an earlier version: download
linkguard-0.3.1-foss.apkbelow and open it. It installs over the old version, and LinkGuard stays your default browser. - New install: open the APK (allow "Install unknown apps"), then open LinkGuard → Set as default browser.
Android 8+.
What's new
- Many more scam websites caught. LinkGuard's server list grew from about 1,900 malware sites to around 89,000 known phishing, scam and malware websites, from leading international security databases (PhishDestroy and URLhaus), updated every day. This works in every installed version; How LinkGuard works and About now describe it, in all 23 languages.
- Wrong translation? Tell us now offers email and GitHub only. A Play Store review option will come once LinkGuard is on the Play Store.
Privacy
Unchanged: LinkGuard never logs, stores or sends the links you open. Server checks send only a short scrambled fingerprint of the website's name. No accounts, analytics or trackers. Policy: https://dwarpallabs.com/linkguard/privacy
Known limitations (why this is still a pre-release)
- All languages except English are machine-translated; corrections welcome
- On Android 8–12, LinkGuard can only use a language your phone itself can be set to
- Links opened inside an app's in-app browser, or by apps that open Chrome directly, never reach LinkGuard
