LinkGuard 0.3.2 makes reporting a scam a one-tap thing and fixes a privacy gap in backups. This is also the build going to the Google Play closed test.

Install or update

  • Updating from an earlier version: download linkguard-0.3.2-foss.apk below and open it. It installs over the old version, and LinkGuard stays your default browser.
  • New install: open the APK (allow "Install unknown apps"), then open LinkGuard → Set as default browser.

Android 8+.

What's new

  • Report this link on the warning screen. It asks once in a sheet that says what is sent: only the website's name and the reason for the warning, never the full link or your messages.
  • "Was that link a scam?" After you tap Open anyway, LinkGuard asks you once the next time you open it, with three answers: Yes, it was a scam (sends a report), No, it was fine and Not sure.
  • Fresh installs: no false warning on a popular website in the first seconds before the safe-site list has downloaded.
  • Design fixes: text sizes, spacing and touch targets across the app.

Privacy

  • The per-phone reporter secret is no longer included in Google backups or phone-to-phone transfers. Existing installs move it out on first use.
  • After Open anyway, the website's name (never the link), the time and the warning reasons are kept on the phone until you answer, or 7 days at most. That file is never backed up. Websites already asked about are kept only as a scrambled fingerprint.
  • Everything else is unchanged: LinkGuard never logs, stores or sends the links you open. Policy: https://dwarpallabs.com/linkguard/privacy

Known limitations (why this is still a pre-release)

  • All languages except English are machine-translated; corrections welcome
  • On Android 8–12, LinkGuard can only use a language your phone itself can be set to
  • Links opened inside an app's in-app browser, or by apps that open Chrome directly, never reach LinkGuard

Verify the download
