Flex-Dump: A Header Conversion Tool for Flex 3

Flex-Dump is a Python tool designed to convert class-dumped headers from iOS frameworks into a format suitable for Flex 3 patches. By automating the conversion process, it simplifies the creation and modification of Flex 3 patches for developers and enthusiasts.

🚀 How to Use the Script

Step 1: Dump Headers Using class-dumpc

  1. Download class-dumpc from this release.

  2. Open a terminal and run the following command:

    ./class-dumpc -H <drag in the framework binary> -o <output directory>

    How to Set Up Your Folders:

    1. Make a folder called Frameworks
    2. Copy your app's frameworks into it

    For example, if you have GoogleCast in your app:

    📁 Frameworks/
   └── 📁 GoogleCast.framework/   ← Put all GoogleCast headers here

    To dump the headers:

    ./class-dumpc -H Frameworks/GoogleCast.framework/GoogleCast -o Frameworks/GoogleCast.framework

    ✅ Name each folder EXACTLY like your app's framework (e.g., GoogleCast.framework)
    ✅ All headers go inside their matching framework folder

Step 2: Run the Flex-Dump Script

  1. Place the script in the same directory as your Frameworks folder

  2. Run the script to process all frameworks automatically:

    python3 "convert_headers_to_extracted 2.py"

  3. The script will generate .extracted files for each framework in your Frameworks folder

Step 3: Copy the Extracted File to Flex 3 Directory

  1. Move the generated .extracted files to the following directory:

    /var/mobile/Documents/Flex

  2. Open Flex 3, and the new libraries should appear under the "Embedded Libraries" section.
