What's Changed

The MCP server (rulesync mcp) now covers the whole CLI (#3591).

  • feat(mcp): accept the remaining CLI options in generate, import and convert by @dyoshikawa in #3595
    • generate gains dryRun, check (returns upToDate and a plan instead of exiting), retireTargets, outputRoots, inputRoots, inputRoot and configPath; import accepts targets and outputRoot.
    • Every path an MCP caller passes, and the roots read from a config file the caller selects, must resolve inside the project directory, symbolic links included.
  • feat(mcp): expose init, gitignore, add, fetch, install, doctor, docs and release-notes by @dyoshikawa in #3596
    • Each is a new rulesyncTool feature with a run operation and structured results; doctor returns its diagnostics as data and install with outdated: true reports instead of exiting.
    • Tokens come from the environment only; no MCP argument accepts one.
  • test(mcp): guard CLI/MCP parity with an explicit exclusion list by @dyoshikawa in #3597
    • A test now fails when a CLI command or option lands without an MCP counterpart; the exclusions (mcp, update, --watch, --interactive, --token, output flags) are documented in the MCP server reference.
