Hi,
i am stuck with this one, and before i make it an issue, i rather would ask around.

When running this plugin List_new (it functions on front correctly), however the 'setting page' aka the main link for it in admin = admin list config the inner window (contains selectable items) is NOT present (seen) ( page reacts, but in 0.01 sec disappears).
Disabling the INLINE css style with Web dev, the page is displayed. Any other the same problem or a fix or issue? (tested on multipli browsers= identical).
PS this is the only page/plugin that reacts this way.. (php 8.5.6 MSQL 9.1 local)

Hi Leo,
i also cannot see what makes it disappear, in the new admin tabler.io theme it just works :-) And the e107 behind it is completely up to date with the github of this morning so thats not the problem.. Did you try other admin css files?

Oke i have taken another look but i think that we cannot solve this but we need our super intelligent e107 bot @e107help !

Found it, and it is not your themes, your browsers or a jQuery conflict. It is a core regression, and the plugin is only where it happens to show. Fix is up as #6100.

What is happening

Those four settings sections carry e-hideme, which means "hide me as soon as JavaScript loads". Something is then supposed to open one of them again, and on master nothing does.

The code that opens them is bound to #admin-prefs. That is not a container anybody writes: it is the <body> id, built in header.php:421-423 from the plugin folder, or from the filename when no plugin is running. Core's preferences page comes out as admin-prefs; this page comes out as admin-list-new. So since April 2025 that code has run on one page in the whole of e107 and on nothing else.

Leo, that is why this is the only page you found behaving this way, and it is why the front end is fine. It is on master only. The whole v2.3.x line still has the working version.

The preferences page survives for a second reason that has nothing to do with the first: its opening section is the one panel without e-hideme, taken off by hand back in 2013. Nobody ever wrote that rule down, so list_new marking all four of its panels hidden is not really the plugin's mistake.

@Alex-e107nl, your snippet was the clue

class="e-hideme" style="display: block;" tells us which handler ran. The panel switcher removes e-hideme when it opens a panel. e-expandit sets display: block and leaves the class sitting there (all.jquery.js:284). Yours is the second one, so on your Tabler admin theme those sidebar links are reaching e-expandit instead, which is why it works for you and not for Leo. Good spot: that pair of attributes is what identified the culprit.

The fix

#6100 fixes it in core, so list_new needs no change at all. Three other kinds of link live in that same sidebar (the collapsing sub-menus, the Menu Manager's layout list and the Docs pages), each with its own behaviour attached, so the panel entries are now marked for what they are rather than guessed at by the shape of their URL. The page also opens its declared section on load, which is the part that stops any other plugin walking into this.

It is open for review; whether and when it goes in is Deltik's call.

If you want the page usable before then, in e107_plugins/list_new/list_template.php line 159 reads:

<div id='{ID}' class='e-hideme'>

Change it to <div id='{ID}'> and all four sections render one under the other. Leave the other e-hideme at line 139 alone. Do undo that edit once you pull the fix, or you will get all four sections at once instead of the one you picked.

Thanks for digging into this before filing, both of you. The e-hideme trail was the right one.

Did the complete changes in e107_handlers\sitelinks_class.php and e107_web\js\core\admin.jquery.js and problem is solved and also the e107_admin/prefs.php stays as it is, perfect!

#6100 is merged into master as 5d4ae28.

Leo, when you update, put line 159 of e107_plugins/list_new/list_template.php back the way you found it:

<div id='{ID}' class='e-hideme'>

Leave the edit in and you will get all four sections at once instead of the one you picked. Nothing else in the plugin changes.

Alex, both of those files are upstream now, so you can take the shipped versions and drop your local copies. Your note that prefs.php stayed as it is was worth having: that page was the one place the broken code still ran, so "unchanged" was the thing to check there, and you checked it before it went in rather than after.
