Release list
GitBell v0.2.1
First public release. Native desktop notifications for GitHub activity and coding agents, from your tray.
Highlights
- Native toasts for pushes, PRs, reviews, issues, releases in the repos and orgs you choose. No server, no webhooks: your token, polled politely from your machine.
- Knows when an agent did it. Claude Code, Copilot, Codex, Cursor and friends get their own category, sound, and a link to the agent's session.
gitbell notifyfrom any script or hook.- Three-step first run, activity-first window, glass with an opacity slider, unread dot on the tray, mascot that rings its bell.
- Spanish and English. Token in the OS keyring.
Fixed since 0.2.0
- Sound in packaged Linux builds
- Push toasts show the real commit count and message again (GitHub slimmed its event payloads)
- Poller can't freeze on a hung request; failing targets stay visible
- Real avatar instead of a stale identicon
- Correct desktop entry and menu category on Linux
