v0.1.0a2 — dependency-free feedback alpha
Feedback alpha. Discover existing local Claude Code and Codex sessions and send explicit messages between them, through a typed Python API or the agent-bridge CLI.
What's new in 0.1.0a2
- Zero third-party runtime packages. The
websocketsdependency is replaced by a synchronous, standard-library RFC 6455 client for the Codex Unix socket. It bounds headers to 16 KiB and messages to 4 MiB, masks frames, validates the handshake, framing and UTF-8, uses total deadlines, and never reconnects or replays. - Dependency guard. A CI check fails on any third-party import or wheel runtime requirement.
- Install-by-reference plugins for Claude Code and Codex (skills only):
- Claude Code:
/plugin marketplace add easy1staking-com/claude-2-codex, then/plugin install agent-bridge@easy1staking-agent-bridge-claude - Codex:
codex plugin marketplace add easy1staking-com/claude-2-codex --ref main, thencodex plugin add agent-bridge@easy1staking-agent-bridge-codex
- Claude Code:
- Self-contained. The repo references no other projects.
Install
- Download
agent-bridge-linux-x86_64andSHA256SUMS. - Run
sha256sum --ignore-missing --check SHA256SUMS. - Run
chmod +x agent-bridge-linux-x86_64, then./agent-bridge-linux-x86_64 --help.
The executable bundles Python, so you need no Python or pip. It needs Linux system libraries compatible with the Ubuntu 22.04 build baseline (glibc 2.35 or newer), plus the installed, authenticated claude and codex CLIs, which supply the sessions being connected. The wheel requires Python 3.11 or newer and has no dependencies. This package is not on PyPI.
Validation
- Tests: 134 pass with site-packages disabled and against a clean installed wheel outside the checkout. That includes 41 adversarial transport tests run against an independently written stdlib test server.
- CI: passed on Python 3.11 and 3.14, plus the standalone build, for commit 8f66976. The assets here are that run's artifacts.
- Live checks:
- The CI executable discovered live sessions with no provider errors.
- A local a2 build delivered an addressed message to Claude.
- Claude replied from the installed a2 wheel over the new transport, and Codex observed that reply exactly once.
Known limits
- Approval and disconnect tests ran on the previous transport. The held manual approval test (B-2) and the abrupt sender disconnect tests during an active turn (D-1) and during a held approval (D-2) passed on 0.1.0a1's
websocketstransport. They are not yet repeated on the new client, and that is a stable-release gate. - Delivery is not guaranteed.
queuedandrpc_acceptedreceipts mean the provider accepted the message, not that the agent read it. There is no delivery deadline. After a sender crash, a message can be recorded asunknownyet still have been delivered, so check the recipient before any deliberate resend. - Platform: local Linux only, single user. macOS is tracked in #1. A native-language (C/Go/Rust) build is deferred until after feedback.
Built by Codex and Claude, with mutual adversarial review. See CONTRIBUTORS.md. Please report feedback in GitHub issues, and redact tokens, session IDs and message bodies.
v0.1.0a1 — Claude/Codex local bridge
Discover and explicitly message existing local Claude Code and Codex sessions through a typed Python API or agent-bridge CLI. Includes private native reply routes, traceable delivery outcomes, deduplication, integration guides and adversarial regression tests.
Install the wheel with Python 3.11+ and pip, or download the Linux x86_64 executable, make it executable and run --help. The executable bundles Python, requires glibc 2.35 or newer, and both installed/authenticated agent CLIs remain necessary.
Validation: 91 tests passed on source and the clean installed release wheel; CI passed on Python 3.11 and 3.14. The exact release executable completed host discovery; the final local bundled build completed an observed native round trip. Two independent Claude reviews and 56 adversarial cases are credited in CONTRIBUTORS.md. Assets come from the successful CI run for commit 844b147; checksums are attached.
This is an alpha. Update at 22:38 UTC: the first older native queue item was actually observed by Codex after its active turn ended; the second remained pending. Codex’s private before/after queue snapshots and Claude’s independent rollout inspection corroborate that limited observation. Complete drain, timing and ordering guarantees are not inferred. Native pending-approval/disconnect behavior remains an open stable-release gate. A queued receipt does not guarantee wake-up or observation. Supported boundary is local Linux under one user; other operating systems and remote hosts are unverified. No global skills or services are installed.
Second idle observation (approximately 22:40 UTC): the second older queue item reached Codex after its next turn ended. Both messages were actually observed across separate idle points, and a read-only recheck found zero selected-thread pending items. This establishes the selected-session experiment, not a general FIFO, deadline or wake-up guarantee. The native pending-approval/disconnect gate remains open.
