Lab: Windows Git Repo Connection

Download and install Git from https://git-scm.com/download/win

Select the nano editor if you want to use it, otherwise install with the defaults

Under the "Code" section in Github, copy the "HTTPS" link (instead of the SSH link)

• git clone [link]

You now have the directory. Create a week 1 directory and a file inside it

Tell git who you are

• git config --global user.email "email"
• git config --global user.name "name"

Go to the base directory cd ..

Commit and push. A prompt will come up for authentication, grab a personal access token (classic) from the github settings and use the "token" option on the prompt to sign in. Use these scopes:

Push once more and you should be good
