Retro Chiaki v0.3.2

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 06 Aug 09:45

0.3.2 - 2026-08-06

💼 Changes

  • Fix pre-stream input breakage: don't bundle libevdev/libudev

The release package bundled its own build environment's libevdev.so.2 and
libudev.so.1. LD_LIBRARY_PATH made the app prefer those over the device's
own matching copies, which silently broke gptokeyb's virtual-input
handling (all pre-stream click/button navigation) while leaving Qt/EGL
graphics unaffected -- confirmed by direct A/B testing on device.

Both libraries read the device's own evdev/uinput nodes, so like glibc
they need to come from the target device, not this build environment.

Retro Chiaki v0.2.0 — Universal H700 display support

Choose a tag to compare

@ed-fruty ed-fruty released this 03 Aug 12:31

Retro Chiaki is a PS4 / PS5 Remote Play client adapted for Allwinner H700 handhelds running muOS.

What’s new

  • One ARM64 build now detects the framebuffer at runtime and adapts to both 720×480 and 640×480 displays.
  • Main window, Settings, registration, on-screen keyboard and stream viewport are constrained to the detected panel.
  • EGLFS and Mali rendering no longer use a fixed 720×480 window.
  • Added original 320×240 muOS/PortMaster preview artwork.
  • Documented bundled Qt/EGLFS components and system requirements.

Compatibility

Tested on Anbernic RG34XXSP (720×480) with muOS 2601 Jacaranda. Other H700 devices and 640×480 displays are supported by the adaptive layout but remain unverified. KNULLI is not tested yet.

Installation

  1. Download retro-chiaki-v0.2.0-portmaster-muos-h700.zip below.
  2. Extract it to the root of the SD card containing the ROMS and ports directories.
  3. Verify ROMS/Ports/Chiaki.sh and ports/chiaki/chiaki exist.
  4. Refresh Ports or reboot, then start Ports → Chiaki.

PortMaster must be installed. No separate PortMaster runtime such as Mono, Love or Weston is required; Qt 5 and EGLFS dependencies are bundled.

A separate native muOS Application package is planned, but is not included in v0.2.0.

Recommended settings

  • Resolution: 540p
  • FPS: 30
  • Codec: H.264
  • Display: Original or Stretch to Screen

@ed-fruty ed-fruty released this 03 Aug 11:29

Patch release for the Anbernic RG34XXSP (720×480) PS4 / PS5 Remote Play client.

Changes

  • Fresh-install stream defaults are now 540p, 30 FPS, and H.264.
  • Display mode Keep 16:9 was renamed to the clearer Original.
  • README now clearly describes support for PS4, PS4 Pro, PS5, PS5 Digital Edition and PS5 Pro.
  • Added Anbernic and KNULLI discoverability. KNULLI remains untested and is not covered by this build's compatibility guarantee.

Existing user settings are preserved when upgrading. This package remains specifically built and tested for RG34XXSP 720×480 on muOS; 640×480 devices need a separate build.

Recommended settings

  • Resolution: 540p
  • FPS: 30
  • Codec: H.264
  • Display Mode: Original for correct proportions or Stretch to Screen to fill the panel

Installation

Extract the attached ZIP to the root of the SD card containing the muOS ROMS and ports directories.
