Graphix — The Cross-Check

FORM E&E-CROSSCHECK · Perimeter cross-checking software · A Perimeter Company

Graphix cross-checks the work of instruments against one another, monitoring, detecting, and helping to debug inconsistencies — until a discrepancy is produced, at which point a Disputes Subcommittee is automatically convened.

It compares Proofs of Indexing (PoIs) across the perimeter. Where two instruments agree, the result is noted. Where they disagree, the result is escalated. Where they agree suspiciously, the result is, on balance, also escalated.

What it does

  • Cross-checks PoIs across all participating instruments.
  • Detects inconsistencies, divergences, and the occasional documented regret.
  • Produces disputes. This is not a side effect. This is the deliverable.
  • Helps debug the disputes it produced, on a timeline presently under review.

What it does not do

  • It does not resolve disputes. Resolution is handled separately, by EEP-1, which tables them.
  • It does not assign blame. Blame is allocated centrally, by a single entity — the only model known to work.

Running

cargo run --release -p graphix

The service will begin cross-checking immediately and will not stop. Stopping it requires a decision, and decisions are deferred to a Subcommittee.

License

See LICENSE.

Graphix produces disputes for monitoring purposes only and should not be mistaken for a position. All proofs are provisional. A proof that cannot be cross-checked is itself a kind of proof. This README supersedes itself.
