Release list
v1.2.1
The GitHub repository is now eeeurico/headless-deploy-panel-for-vercel, matching the plugin's new name. Old deploy-vercel links redirect here.
The plugin's links (Plugin URI and readme) now point to the new repository. No code changes from 1.2.0.
Install with headless-deploy-panel-for-vercel-1.2.1.zip below (Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin). If you're coming from "Deploy to Vercel", see the 1.2.0 release notes.
v1.2.0
Deploy to Vercel is now Headless Deploy Panel for Vercel. The new name was requested by the WordPress.org Plugins Team. Install with headless-deploy-panel-for-vercel-1.2.0.zip below (Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin).
Changed
- New name, slug and text domain:
headless-deploy-panel-for-vercel. - The admin menu is now Deploy Panel.
- Settings are stored in
headless_deploy_panel_settings. Settings from 1.1.0 and 1.0.x are migrated automatically. - The meta box filter is now
headless_deploy_panel_meta_box_post_types.
No functional changes from 1.1.0.
Upgrading from Deploy to Vercel
The plugin folder has a new name, so WordPress treats 1.2.0 as a separate plugin rather than an update. Install and activate it, and it picks up your existing settings. Then deactivate and delete the old "Deploy to Vercel" plugin.
v1.1.0
Rework for the WordPress.org Plugin Directory resubmission. Install with deploy-vercel-1.1.0.zip below (Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin).
Security
- The Vercel API token and deploy hook are no longer sent to the browser. WordPress makes every Vercel request itself, through the plugin's REST endpoints.
- Secret settings are password fields and are never shown again after saving.
New
- Optional revalidation secret, sent in the
x-revalidate-secretheader. The readme FAQ includes a Next.js App Router example. - "Settings" link on the Plugins screen.
Improved
- The revalidation path is worked out on the server from the post, and only published content can be revalidated.
- After you click Deploy, the page waits for the new deployment to appear and finish.
- Scripts and styles only load where the plugin uses them.
- The whole interface is translatable, including the JavaScript.
Changed
- Settings are stored in
deploy_vercel_settings. Settings from 1.0.x are migrated automatically. - The filter
VDWP/meta_box/post_typesis nowdeploy_vercel_meta_box_post_types. - Requires WordPress 6.0 and PHP 7.4.
Also includes 1.0.4: the "Revalidate" meta box and the Revalidation URL setting.
