Brow 0.2.2
Brow 0.2.2 makes signing in to an account safer for its Claude Code files.
Fixed
- After a sign-in, Brow marks Claude Code's first-run setup as done in the account's
.claude.json. It no longer rewrites a.claude.jsonthat doesn't parse, such as one caught half-written by Claude Code, which would have left only two keys and dropped the account's sign-in, MCP servers and project trust. The write now goes through Claude Code's lock file and keeps a symlinked.claude.jsona symlink (efim0v/grove#4, #5).
If you're still on 0.2.0, this release also has the security fix from 0.2.1: 0.2.0 kept Claude Code access tokens in a cache file.
Update
- Homebrew:
brew upgrade --cask brow. - Or download
Brow.zipbelow, quit Brow and replace/Applications/Brow.app. The build is signed ad hoc and not notarized, so macOS blocks the first launch: open System Settings → Privacy & Security and press Open Anyway, or runxattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Brow.app. - A new ad hoc build can lose access to Claude Code's Keychain items. An account in that state shows a key; press it and choose Always Allow.
Requires macOS 26 or later on Apple silicon and Claude Code.

Brow 0.2.1
Brow 0.2.1 fixes a security issue in 0.2.0: it kept Claude Code access tokens in a cache file. Please update.
Security
-
Usage and profile requests no longer go through the shared URL cache. Brow 0.2.0 stored each request, with the Claude Code access token in its
Authorizationheader, and each response, with the account's email and plan, in~/Library/Caches/dev.artemefimov.brow/Cache.db. Any process running as your user could read that file without a Keychain prompt. The tokens there are access tokens, which expire after about eight hours; refresh tokens were never stored. -
The first request after launching 0.2.1 empties that cache. To remove it right away, quit Brow and run:
rm -rf ~/Library/Caches/dev.artemefimov.brow
Fixed
- An account Brow has no reading for yet no longer counts as 0 % used in the two readouts beside the notch and in the panel's Overall line. With a Pro account at 90 % of both limits and a Max 20x account with no reading, both readouts showed 4 %; they now show 90 %.
The changelog lists everything else since 0.2.0, mostly documentation: an FAQ, Uninstall steps, the README in Russian and Simplified Chinese, and the website.

Brow 0.2.0
The first public build of Brow — Claude Code usage and rate limits of every account, in the MacBook notch.
Install
-
Download Brow.zip, unzip it and move
Brow.appto/Applications. -
Open it. The build is signed ad hoc and is not notarized by Apple, so macOS blocks the first launch. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security, find the message about Brow and press Open Anyway — or clear the quarantine flag yourself:
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Brow.app
-
macOS asks once per account for access to Claude Code's Keychain item — choose Always Allow. Because the build is signed ad hoc, macOS asks again after you update to a newer build.
Requires macOS 26 or later on Apple silicon and Claude Code. The notch layout is for MacBooks with a notch; on other displays Brow shows a pill. Separate browser profiles need Chrome, Chromium, Brave or Edge. The README describes what Brow does on your machine.
