Tool Kits 2.7.42 adds a standalone SEO content editor and aligns explicitly saved page metadata with public HTML. This release includes the SEO changes developed in versions 2.7.35–2.7.42.

This is a pre-release, following v2.7.34. The stable release remains v2.7.30.

Changes

  • Place Tool Kits SEO Content below the WordPress editor at low priority, with focus keyphrase, search appearance and SEO analysis sections. Remove the old Edit SEO Content popup and open the native editor from content audits.
  • Add working Mobile/Desktop search previews, real initial field values, generic English placeholders and complete meta descriptions without forced truncation.
  • Add editable variable chips, Insert variable menus and percent-key autocomplete. Resolve variables immediately in previews and preserve dynamic templates when saving through WordPress Save/Update.
  • Reuse configured favicons and site icons. Add title/description length guidance and live Facebook/LinkedIn previews with featured-image and site-image fallbacks.
  • Fix the PHP 8.1+ readonly() fatal error and retain server-rendered variable chips plus a plain-text fallback when JavaScript is disabled.
  • Apply explicitly saved titles and meta descriptions to public HTML when SEO Toolkit and the page SEO switch are enabled, including theme, other SEO plugin and global-title conflicts. Deduplicate title/description tags and align existing social metadata while preserving canonical, robots, schema and body content.
  • Compare saved values with fetched public metadata in Audit Public Page, including duplicate tags, stale cached values and the actual extracted title/description.

Upgrade notes

The signed license API and matching key inherited from v2.7.31 remain required; see LICENSE_SECURITY.md. The existing Collector deployment requirements from v2.7.33/v2.7.34 also apply.

Save/Update the page after editing metadata. If Audit Public Page reports old values, clear the page/CDN cache and audit again. Google can choose different title links and snippets after crawling; the preview does not guarantee the exact Google result.

Publishing this package does not deploy NexaMonitor or install the plugin on monitored websites.

Validation

  • 39 public SEO output regression checks pass, including explicit metadata precedence, duplicate removal, Unicode preservation, response guards and public audit comparisons.
  • SEO content panel, title, global SEO content, automatic signals, content validation, crawler fixes and indexability regression suites pass.
  • Browser checks pass for mobile/desktop switching, variable editing, no-JavaScript fallbacks, long descriptions, length guidance, favicon and social previews.
  • All 86 packaged PHP files pass syntax validation. Release metadata, ZIP integrity, all 119 packaged file contents against the release checkout and SHA-256 are verified.
