Tool Kits 2.7.43 — SEO Content and Polylang Locale Copy
Tool Kits 2.7.43 is the stable release for the inline SEO content editor, public metadata alignment and Polylang locale copying. It includes the changes previously published as pre-releases through v2.7.42.
SEO content editor
- Edit focus keyphrase, SEO title, slug and complete meta description in the Tool Kits SEO Content panel below the WordPress editor. Save through WordPress Save/Update. The old Edit SEO Content popup is removed.
- Use editable variable chips, Insert variable menus and percent-key autocomplete. Mobile/Desktop Google previews and Facebook/LinkedIn previews follow current edits, favicons and featured images.
- Copy current SEO title, meta description and focus keyphrase to a selected Polylang translation using the Target locale dropdown. Supports more than two languages and lists linked translations the user can edit. Existing target values are preserved unless replacement is selected. Automatic defaults remain automatic; text is copied as-is for subsequent translation.
- Show or hide Tool Kits SEO Content and Tool Kits SEO / GEO independently under SEO > Settings > Editor Panels. Both are shown by default. Hiding a panel preserves stored metadata and public output.
- Fix the readonly() fatal error on PHP 8.1+ and retain readable variable chips/plain-text fallbacks when editor scripts are unavailable.
Public metadata and auditing
- Explicitly saved page SEO titles and meta descriptions take priority in public HTML when SEO Toolkit and the page SEO switch are enabled, including conflicts with themes, other SEO plugins and global title formulas.
- Resolve variables, retain complete Unicode descriptions, remove duplicate title/description tags and align social metadata while preserving body content, canonical, robots and schema.
- Compare saved metadata with the actual fetched public page in Audit Public Page, showing duplicates, mismatches and stale results. Handle inert HTML5 examples correctly with older libxml/PHP 7.4 installations.
- Google may choose different title links and snippets after crawling. If public metadata remains stale, clear page/CDN caches and audit again.
Other changes since stable v2.7.30
- Signed license receipts bound to the installation, site, product and expiry, with guarded refresh and cache access.
- Automatic SEO/GEO references, related content and schema selection, plus the refreshed Health Center with saved assessment/freshness checks and bounded manual scan progress.
- Authenticated on-demand Collector heartbeat for NexaMonitor Check Ulang, with challenge/replay/concurrency/cooldown checks and Form Guard compatibility.
Upgrade requirements
Deploy the matching NexaMonitor signed license API and public-key configuration introduced in v2.7.31 before updating licensed installations; see LICENSE_SECURITY.md in the package. Sites using Collector Check Ulang also need the matching NexaMonitor server update, HTTPS and matching collector tokens.
Publishing this release does not deploy NexaMonitor or install the plugin on monitored sites. To refresh a cached update offer, use Check Updates Now on the WordPress Plugins page; a recent check may require waiting five minutes for the cooldown.
Validation
- 56/56 default regression cases pass on PHP 7.4 and PHP 8.4, including 51 Polylang locale-copy/panel-visibility checks.
- SEO Content panel, title and public output suites pass on both runtimes, including 41 public metadata checks with nested inert examples and request/response guards.
- Browser checks pass for locale selection, current field values, replacement opt-in, duplicate-click prevention, error recovery, mobile/desktop layouts, token editing and search/social previews.
- Release metadata, ZIP integrity, all 120 packaged files against source and release checkout, 87 packaged PHP files on both runtimes, and SHA-256 verified.
