WeaveJS 2026.10.02 (pre-release)

Pre-release. The first build of this fork since upstream development stopped in 2016. The 2026 revival only aimed to get WeaveJS building again with a reproducible toolchain (scripts/bootstrap.sh), and it has not been extensively tested. See Status of this fork for what was and wasn't verified.

Built from 2e16ce071, which includes Weave 478eb1ae9 as a submodule.

Assets

• weavejs-dist-2026.10.02.zip: the WeaveJS web app (index.html, weave.html, the JS bundles, CSS and the sample .weave sessions). Serve it from any static web server.
• weave-release-2026.10.02.zip: the full deployment package, built by build-release-package.sh. It contains:
  • the Flash client in ROOT/;
  • WeaveJS in ROOT/weavejs/;
  • the compiled WeaveASJS core in ROOT/weavejs-core/;
  • WeaveServices.war and LICENSES.md.
• SHA256SUMS

What was checked

• The full build from a clean checkout on Fedora Linux x86_64.
• In headless Chrome 154, the splash screen loads, and the test-nba.weave and test-us-20m.weave sample sessions render without exceptions.

Known issues

• Panels that load data from /WeaveServices/... stay empty unless WeaveServices.war is deployed. That hasn't been tested.
• Some charts log <rect> attribute height: Expected length, "NaN" errors in the browser console.
• npm dependencies are pinned to September 2016 versions to stay compatible with React 0.14, and they haven't been audited. Don't expose this to untrusted data or users.
• At runtime the app fetches fonts from Google Fonts and map tiles from OpenStreetMap.
