Tilqos 1.0.0: first public release

Fixes text typed in the wrong keyboard layout, and switches the layout for you: English, Russian and Kazakh. A native macOS menu-bar app: ghbdtn becomes привет, с2леметс3з becomes сәлеметсіз. No cloud, no network, no telemetry. MIT.

macOS 14+ (Apple Silicon) Tilqos-1.0.0-macOS-arm64.dmg Not notarized: right-click → Open the first time. Grant Accessibility (and optionally Input Monitoring) in System Settings → Privacy & Security; because the build is ad-hoc signed, you must re-approve it after every update (see docs/PERMISSIONS.md). Also: brew install --cask elapen/tap/tilqos
Windows 10/11, experimental Tilqos-1.0.0-Windows-x64.zip, ...-arm64.zip A Go port of the same engine. Never run on real Windows by the author: it compiles and its engine tests pass on a Mac, the hook, clipboard and tray code are unverified. Unsigned (SmartScreen warns). Testers welcome.

Highlights

  • Kazakh as a first-class language: the Russian and Kazakh macOS layouts agree on all 33 Russian letters, and the detector uses the nine Kazakh-specific keys, trigram models, word-form lexicons and suffix morphology
  • Auto-fix when sure, a hint card at the cursor (Tab to accept) when not; per-app rules; presets Cautious / Balanced / Bold; undo; learning; Kazakh Latin ⇄ Cyrillic transliteration
  • UI in English, Русский and Қазақша (the Kazakh text has not been reviewed by a native speaker yet: corrections welcome)
  • Privacy by design (full list in docs/PRIVACY.md): typed words live in memory for seconds, nothing is logged by default, concealed clipboard content (password managers) is never read, no network access

Known limitations

  • Windows port untested on real Windows; macOS builds are ad-hoc signed and not notarized.
  • Tested on macOS 27 / Apple Silicon only; macOS 14-26 and Intel are unverified.
  • Accuracy numbers in the docs are in-sample (tuned on the author's corpus): treat them as a regression guard, not a promise.
