Summary:
Enable saving a full Discover Session (Including all open tabs) directly to a Dashboard from Discover, with user control over which tabs are included and how they are displayed as a panel(s).
Background:
With multi-tab sessions in Discover, a "session" now represents multiple queries or views. Users should be able to persist and visualize their full investigative workspace within a Dashboard context, not just a single tab. Currently we are picking the first tab and are displaying the table results on a dashboard.
Goals:
- Allow saving an entire Discover Session (all tabs) directly to a Dashboard from Discover.
- At save time, enable users to select which tabs from the session should be displayed.
- Let users pick which tab renders as the default view in the embedded panel.
- Define and implement how a Discover Session panel is represented visually and functionally on the Dashboard.
Key Scenarios:
- Save to Dashboard from Discover (session-level action)
- Choose tabs to include during save flow
- Display saved session as one or multiple panels (depending on user selection). Or one panel with tabs (TBD)
- Handle time range, filters and query consistency between Discover and Dashboard.
