2.2.0
- Available on Google Play and direct APK download.
- Available on iTunes except for mainland China.
This release gets a version increment because it introduces 2 new key features:
- Multi-network support in the wallet: HECO, BSC, Fusion Network, Ethereum, Arbitrum One, Polygon are now available in Elastos Essentials. Import one wallet mnemonic, and you're set to use all those networks.
- Built-in web DApp browser. No, it's not the come back of elastOS with capsules. Web dApps are not as well integrated as previous elastOS capsules, they run in a web browser. But still, dApp browsers are trending and quite useful. Now web dApps can run inside Essentials and use the standard web3 library for ethereum-compatible operations on all chains. Besides this, web dApps that integrate the Elastos Connectivity SDK can also, similarly to when using the web3 library, execute Elastos-specific transactions: get DID credentials, import a DID, send a ELA payment, etc, with a smooth integration with Essentials.
- Addition of more EVM-compatible networks and addition of other kind of networks such as Bitcoin, Ripple.
- Try to improve DID adoption by adding more DID-oriented features such as issuing and verifying credentials from Essentials, sharing credentials through hive, partly standardizing DID credentials content, easily viewing another DID's full profile.
- Continuous support of external projects (CreDa, Profile, Feeds, Elabox...) with the key target being to make all end user flows as smooth as possible.
- Improve the "passphrase" concept (UI wise) in the Wallet to reduce confusions.
- Keep trying to push and organize (with Tuum Tech) the overall documentation topic, including the Essentials part, to guide developers while integrating Elastos features.
- Continue to improve several Elastos voting features to improve the overall user experience.
- Improved boot speed.
- Built-in bridges and swaps to transfer assets between Elastos chains and external chains.
- Make the "contacts" feature more and more useful with live interactions with DID contacts.
