Introduction

This is a new major release of Essentials, which brings several new key features such as a fully customizable home screen, a built-in cross chain token swap, Elastos DPoS 2.0 support and many small improvements.

Major new features

  • Built-in cross chain swap using the Chainge Finance third party service.
  • Fully customizable home screen with built-in and dApps widgets support. Among those new widgets, ability to quickly open recently browsed apps, one touch change network, etc. 3 swipeable sub-screens.
  • Full support for Elastos DPoS 2.0 (staking, voting).
  • News widget with Feeds integration, to directly view the most recent feeds posts of subscribed channels.
  • Added Kava network (EVM compatible Cosmos chain).
  • Rebranding: Elastos Essentials now renamed Essentials, with new logo and branding, to open up to more crypto communities and extend the user base.

Major improvements

  • Improved built-in browser experience, including a recently browsed urls filter shown when typing urls.
  • New UI themes / colors, and all screens adjusted to match the new Essentials style
  • Ability to open block explorers from transaction detail screens, from tx id or sender / receiver addresses.
  • Continuous work on improving the startup speed.

Major bug fixes

  • Fixed the always reloading browser issue.
  • Upgraded Hive and DID SDKs to solve random authentication errors, making hive access more stable.
  • More than 100 other minor fixes nad improvements.
