v0.19.1

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 29 Sep 22:55

Fixed

  • A launch records that it reached the emulator when cloud saves are off
  • The docs site has a front page, generated from the README

Under the hood

  • Rewrite every page, split save data out of library, drop the Contents lists
  • The site republishes itself when the docs change
  • The docs build as a site, off by default until somebody turns it on
  • The README points at the docs instead of restating them

@github-actions github-actions released this 26 Sep 23:56

9 ports added: Dusklight, Ship of Harkinian, 2 Ship 2 Harkinian, DevilutionX, Ghostship, Starship, SpaghettiKart, Lighthouse and PaperBoat. Plus update check fixes to prevent rate-limiting.

New

  • A port's row says which game it plays, and the nine are marked verified
  • Nine native ports ship with the plugin

Fixed

  • Checking for updates no longer spends the GitHub API budget
  • A recipe bump does not hand a port a ROM path, and comments come down to size
  • A package whose game is already added says so, and names it

Under the hood

  • Every page's Contents lists every section on it, and ports are in the guide
  • Working out what a file is moves into a mixin of its own
  • Probe_rom says what it does in named steps instead of one long one

Other

  • test: an imported definition is taken out of the catalog before the next test reads it

sha256: 3414ce5075e5e88c2054905de9d2ffb692547951486efa7962a956b3a6f87362

UI and library check fixes

New

  • The library check asks before it acts, and says what it will touch

Fixed

  • A port whose emulator is gone is not reported as on the wrong shelf
  • Every scrolling list says it scrolls
  • The game editor's tabs and its buttons read as one surface

Other

  • ci: a release opens an Announcements discussion

Minor launcher fixes

Fixed

  • Removing an emulator no longer rewrites its games into RetroArch commands
  • A game whose emulator is gone says so, whatever the network is doing

MAKO and decky-lsfg-vk should now work correcly for DeckyEmu shortcuts. Updates to definitions, and some fixes related to cloud sync and vita shortcuts

New

  • A directory other plugins can set launch environment from, instead of the one field they must share
  • Every storage row says who it is, and the one in use says when it last synced
  • The add panel says which button is for a file already on the Deck
  • A save says whether it is a file, and a definition says which format it needs
  • A definition need not repeat args, sixteen save names, or setup's file

Fixed

  • A layer's variables cross into a sandbox by the prefix it gave itself
  • A Vulkan layer set for one shortcut reaches a flatpak emulator too
  • Rebuilding a Vita launcher keeps the title id it launches by
  • A restore leaves behind what the copy up was told not to send
  • Signing in takes over only when there is no storage to take over from
  • A restore corrects a record that names what the storage no longer has
  • Removing a port leaves no empty folder, and the remove dialog's reasoning is current
  • What a definition excludes is left out of the copy up too, and may be a directory
  • A saves pattern has a directory behind it, so it can be restored
  • The record beside the saves names what the storage holds, not what this Deck sent
  • An emulator with no saves yet is somewhere to restore to, not absent
  • A port's saves survive removing it, and restore can put them back
  • The update check answers for the list its button sits under

v0.17.0

@github-actions github-actions released this 24 Sep 00:49

Redesigned transfer interface and optimized multi-disc/multi-track support

New

  • The transfer dialog gives its height to the list
  • A disc of a game you have already added goes into that game
  • A disc that arrives later can join a game already in the library
  • A disc set is never merged into one game without being asked
  • A disc set is one row in the transfer dialog, not one per track

Fixed

  • An answered disc question is carried, not asked again
  • The QR dialog closes when the code it is showing is reissued
  • The transfer poll reads the library only when a row needs it
  • The disc questions can be backed out of, and share one weighted row
  • Trusted devices is a confirmed change, and the dialog is spaced for it

Under the hood

  • The BigPEmu heading had swallowed everything that follows it

The update dialog no longer carries an About button.

Fixed

  • The update dialog is the release, not a second way into About

BigPEmu for the Atari Jaguar plus several other fixes

New

  • The build dialog keeps up with the build it just installed
  • Going back to an older build of a feed-installed emulator
  • BigPEmu, for the Jaguar
  • A config that shares a folder with the saves stays behind
  • An emulator can be installed from a project's own update feed
  • Icons on the settings tabs, and an About dialog

Fixed

  • A refused upload answers instead of resetting the connection
  • Stopping the transfer server frees its port
  • A log, a shader cache or a config is not save data
  • Removing a game takes the link a port kept beside it
  • The panel's status line counts ports and drops the packaging
  • A game whose only icon is an .ico gets one, and Steam can draw it
  • One prompt when a game is launched over a running one
  • A failed launch survives the retry that erases it
  • Artwork matching no longer depends on SteamOS's Python

Under the hood

  • Run the backend checks in the CI image before pushing
  • Three endpoints nothing called

Other

  • test: the endpoints that install and remove RetroArch

v0.15.0

@github-actions github-actions released this 18 Sep 21:58

Mostly groundwork for importing external emulators and ports. Plus some fixes.

New

  • A definition can be fetched by link from the transfer page
  • One file type for definitions, holding one or several
  • A port says which dumps of its game it takes
  • A download is checked against the checksum its release publishes
  • A port's file picker is answered with the game it was added for
  • A release can be a tree, and a port can name the file it insists on
  • A port is handed its game once, for the run that sets it up
  • A port's game wears the port's own artwork and says which port runs it
  • A port's own menu opens with Select+Start
  • A port can find its game in the folder it runs in
  • A release can ship the program inside an archive
  • A Ports tab, for native ports that play one game

Fixed

  • A suite that skips itself no longer ends the whole run
  • One place files a row under Received, whichever way it arrived
  • The import dialog fits on the screen it is shown on
  • A scrolling list says it scrolls, and keeps its focus ring inside
  • An extract pattern that matches nothing says what the download held
  • The OS trust store is found once, not raced for by every artwork probe
  • A port's menu key can be corrected after its game was added
  • Nothing a game runs may take the pad Game Mode reads
  • The motion server cannot outlive its game either
  • The save backup carries what an entry declares, and nothing it does not
  • A deploy says what it is, and sends the unpack script it describes
  • The plugin no longer needs glob, which decky does not bundle

Under the hood

  • Native ports, and every field a definition may carry
  • Native ports in the readme, and credit for the helper they use

v0.14.1

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 17 Sep 14:11

Decky Loader 3.2.9 dropped a Python module this plugin used for file transfers, and because it was imported at startup the whole backend failed to load — hence "plugin backend not responding". The transfer server no longer needs it.

If you're stuck on the broken version, the Updates tab can't help, since updating needs the backend. Reinstall from Decky's Settings → Developer → Install from URL with https://get.deckyemu.xyz. Games, settings and BIOS files are left alone.

Fixed

  • Transfers work where decky's bundle carries no http.server

Under the hood

  • A PUT refused before its body is read may abort the connection, which is still a refusal
  • The module guard proves submodules too, which is what http.server slipped through
