Export certificate fails when installing PCAPdroid-mitm

Device: 2026 BraX3; OS iodeOS-7.7-20260724-brax3; PCAPdroid v.1.9.1 installed from io-droid (fork of F-droid)
Installation of PCAPdroid-mitm continues normally up to the "Install Certificate" stage which fails because the certificate is only 4 bytes, its content is the word "null"
Do I need to have the Paid Version for this operation?

Hello, the decryption feature is free, no need to purchase any paid feature.
This seems an issue in mitmproxy; first of all, try to uninstall and reinstall the PCAPdroid-mitm app, so that it generates a new certificate. If that does not work, please try installing the PCAPdroid beta apk from https://pcapdroid.org/fdroid/repo/PCAPdroid_1.9.1-0922579d.apk , which will prompt you to install a newer PCAPdroid-mitm version, which may solve your issue.

If any of this helps you, please provide a screen recording of the certificate installation process, so that I can verify that you are doing the correct steps, and the "PCAPdroid mitm" log from the Log section in the PCAPdroid left drawer.

I downloaded and installed the PCAPdroid_1.9.1-0922579d.apk](https://pcapdroid.org/fdroid/repo/PCAPdroid_1.9.1-0922579d.apk I observed during install it asked permissions only for notifications, not for any read/write access. Also in Settings > Apps > PCAPdroid (beta) Open by default > In the app is selected, but to download and install PCAPdroid-mitm it called on the system default web browser. I was using a lightweight browser Via [mark.via.gp v.7.2.1], changed it for the mozilla derivative iode Browser [com.iode.firefox v.153.0.3-iode.169] that shipped with the phone: no difference. Because this is a de-Googled "Privacy Phone" ther,e might be some read/write restriction either built-in, or that I have overlooked in the Settings. Screenshot shows it is Certificate Export that is failing with no error message.

Maybe the issue is caused by the activity re-creation; I've done a tentative fix in bdf0283 . Please this new beta apk and let me know: https://pcapdroid.org/fdroid/repo/PCAPdroid_2.0.0-bdf0283e.apk .

If you still experience the issue, please share the "Build info" from the left drawer -> About page and the PCAPdroid and mitm addon log from the left drawer -> Log page.

I've installed the PCAPdroid_2.0.0-bdf0283e.apk and that installed the PCAPdroid mitm v. 2.3 and exported a substantive Certificate. All appears to be working now (or at least until I get the paid version and analyse a PCAPng dump). Thnk yo very much for your help Sir. Buildinfo attached
