Taxonomy - Where is the delete button?

After creating new Taxonomies using the +Add Taxonomy button in Categories page they appear in the side menu bar.

But there appears to be no way to delete a taxonomy. Only the entries within it.

Do we need a 'Taxonomies' admin side menu similar to the 'Categories' admin menu?

No way to remove this "Card Group" taxonomy.

No. There is no trash icon for the “Card Groups” taxonomy. The trash icons are for content tagged with that taxonomy. Even when there is zero content in that list it is impossible to remove the Card Groups. Try it. Create a new Taxonomy with the "+New Taxonomy” button in the Categories page. It will appear in your side admin menu. There is no way to get rid of it ( interesting! I was replying to an email. Why is that not showing? )

Here's a screenshot of an empty taxonomy on my cloudflare playground!

Now please fix it as I can't get rid of it without digging into places where a normal user should not dig!

Looks like it might be a bug. You could file a bug report and let EmDashBot look into the root cause. It may be able to help with your specific case. Some developers may not be familiar with how Taxonomy works.

You were right that the admin had no way to remove a taxonomy, and thanks for filing #3246. It's fixed by #3247, which is now merged. On the taxonomy's own screen you'll find Delete taxonomy in the three-dot menu at the top. Once you confirm, it deletes the taxonomy together with all its terms in every language, and the sidebar entry disappears. Any entries filed under it stay put and just lose those terms.

It's not in a release yet, so 0.38.0 doesn't have it. It'll ship with the next one.

#3247 only adds the delete, not the Taxonomies page you suggested, so I'll leave this discussion open for that idea. If deleting was all you were after, feel free to close it once you've tried it out. And if anything about it doesn't behave the way you'd expect, let me know here.

Good work thanks! A delete on the individual Taxonomy works just as well. Not sure if I really want the clutter of an extra menu if I can avoid it. I already want to be able to customise the installation and hide menus that are not being used!
