BindControl v0.37.0.1
Make BindWizard select popup-based; bugfix for deleting custom binds' bindfiles
V0.37 release notes follow:
New "inside game directory" bindfiles location; small updates
The marquee feature of this release is that BindControl will now
optionally allow you to save your bindfiles inside the game directory,
using relative filenames to load them.
This is appealing in a couple of ways:
- First, that it touches fewer unrelated places on the filesystem, not
forcing you to save your bindfiles into a short-named directory near
the root of the hard drive. - Second, that the relative filenames that are now supported actually
shorten the various "bindloadfile" incantations by several characters,
allowing for slightly longer binds -- "kb/hero/reset.txt" instead of
"c:/coh/hero/reset.txt"
This feature is toggled at the application level, it's all-or-nothing.
Fresh installs of BindControl will default to this scheme, while
existing installs will default to the original absolute-path scheme.
The relative scheme requires that you have the correct path to either
Homecoming or Rebirth set up in Preferences. It attempts to enforce
this, but corner cases around this are still possible, so report in if
you run into any weirdness about the Write Binds step.
It's possible in preferences to switch between the two schemes, but
every Profile will need to have its binds rewritten if you switch
schemes. Switching schemes will not migrate or delete the existing
bindfiles from the old location, it's all up to you. Copying bindfiles
between the locations will not work out as you might like.
Other updates and features of this release:
- Bugfix: fix warning when attempting "Delete All Binds" since the
Macro Composer release - The "New Simple Bind" "New Complex Bind" and "New Buffer Bind" buttons
have been consolidated into a single "New Custom Bind" button with a
pop-down menu - The "Combine Inspirations" PowerBinder feature is now much more
intelligent and will only allow you to combine small, medium, or large
single inspirations (not dual or team), and will only let you select a
destination inspiration of the correct type and size. - The Inspiration Popper page is a little bit better laid out, in prep
for further work on this front later on.
As always, please open issues with any bugs or feedback.
