A rebuild of the model list and the network view, driven by people using the
app while it was being changed. Plus one number that had been wrong since the
feature existed.
Fixed
- Models were reporting the wrong quality setting. Every model is
compressed before it is shared, and how much it was compressed decides how
good its answers are and how much memory it needs. SwarmLLM read that setting
from the file and then looked it up in a table that was wrong — so the most
common setting of all, the balanced one nearly everyone uses, was displayed as
the most aggressive compression there is. Nothing was actually wrong with
anybody's models; the label was. It had been wrong for as long as the panel
existed, and it was only noticed because that panel stopped being hidden
behind a link this release. - Cancelling a download left the model's parts showing the wrong thing. The
row kept whatever it had said before until the next refresh.
Changed
- Every model in the list now says what it is, in words. A row used to be a
name and a coloured bar; whether you were storing it, and how big it was, took
a click to find out. Each row now reads "You host all 4 parts · 1.6 GB", or
"On 3 other computers · 4.6 GB" for one the network has and you do not — and
the rows are grouped under On this computer and On other computers, so
nothing looks missing when it is simply further down. - Opening a model shows everything at once. It used to be five stacked
boxes and a table of every part, with no answer to the questions people
actually open it for. It now begins with those answers in plain sentences —
whether the model is safe on the network, whether your conversations stay
private, and what you can do about either — with the technical details and the
parts side by side underneath. No links to expand. - The parts of a model read as sentences. "Part 1 of 4 · reads your prompt ·
On this computer, ready now · also on 4 other computers" instead of a row of
symbols. The first part of a model turns your question into numbers and the
last one writes the reply, which is also exactly why holding both is what
keeps a conversation private — the old labels said "1st" and "last" and left
that unsaid. - The map and the leaderboard are one place again. They were moved into an
overflow menu last release; someone who uses SwarmLLM daily pointed out they
were the two links they used most. They are now a single Network tab, and
the map draws the routes recent requests actually took — real arcs between the
countries that did the work, not a guess. - The dashboard leads with what your node is doing. Activity moved up near
the top and the model list moved down, because what it is holding changes far
less often than what it is doing. - The version number links to its own release notes, and the top of the
window now shows the project's GitHub and a link to the Discord — the fastest
way to find people to pool with. - Fewer ways to sort the model list (three, from six — three of them answered
the same question), and the raw file details moved off every row into the
model you opened.
