Transgentic v2.2.0 (Stability & Availibility)

Choose a tag to compare

@patiparnne patiparnne released this 02 Oct 22:07

This release adds configurable media generation across Quick Prompt, MCP, and an authenticated HTTP API, improves provider response reliability, and makes the desktop interface easier to read at larger window sizes.

Media generation and settings

  • Generate images, videos, and music through recipe-controlled provider tools. Supported settings are discoverable per provider and model, with verified defaults applied before each request.
  • Quick Prompt's sparkle button now opens generation settings. Save choices per provider and mode, configure fallback overrides, or reset to recipe defaults. Unsupported inherited settings explain why a fallback will be skipped.
  • Added Gemini image aspect ratios, video orientation, and music length, vocals, and genre controls. Music defaults to Standard length with Custom vocals and genre; images default to square and videos to landscape.
  • Added Grok Imagine image and video settings. Images default to Speed and square; videos default to 480p, six seconds, landscape, and sound enabled. Video generation requires the provider's applicable account entitlement.
  • ChatGPT image generation uses native automatic settings. Reference uploads are supported where declared by the selected provider.
  • Generation succeeds only when usable media is saved and validated. Text-only replies are reported as media_not_generated. Music remains in the Music library even when delivered as an MP4 with an audio track.

Media API and MCP

  • Added authenticated capability discovery and asynchronous media jobs: create a job, check progress and effective settings, cancel or stop waiting, and download its registered artifacts.
  • Jobs and idempotency keys persist across restarts. Interrupted submissions become uncertain instead of being replayed, and differently configured requests retain distinct identities.
  • MCP generation and editing tools accept the same settings and provider overrides, with reference attachments for supported image and video workflows.
  • Existing chat completions remain available with their current contract. See the Media API guide for endpoints, defaults, authentication, and examples.

Provider and integration reliability

  • Improved completion response parsing and tool-call handling, including JSON escapes, Markdown, code, and explicit tool selection used by agentic clients.
  • Improved ChatGPT image completion detection so finished generations can leave the processing state and be collected.
  • Response capture ignores hidden conversation content and duplicate hidden editors across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Grok.
  • Sign-in and verification challenges surface as actionable errors while waiting for a response. Ordinary conversation text quoting those notices is not treated as a verification challenge.
  • Requests that may already have been submitted stop automatic fallback, including normal chats and callers sharing an in-flight request, to prevent duplicate submissions.
  • Improved temporary-chat handling, attachment validation and reporting, and native CLI provider connection diagnostics.

Desktop interface

  • App text and controls scale with the main pane, up to 25% larger, while compact windows retain the baseline size. Embedded provider pages retain their own scaling.
  • Improved window resizing and drawer layout management.
  • Windows and Linux use nearly opaque backgrounds for readability where native macOS vibrancy is unavailable. macOS retains its native vibrancy behavior.
  • Updated the README, API documentation, and Settings API guide for media workflows.

Availability

Provider controls, quota, subscriptions, and sign-in requirements still determine which generations are available. Grok video controls are included, but video generation was not live-tested on the current free account. Windows appearance still needs verification on a Windows device.

The Chrome extension remains at v1.2.0 in this desktop release.

Transgentic v2.1.3 (Webview Fix)

Choose a tag to compare

@patiparnne patiparnne released this 29 Sep 20:24

This patch improves webview chat and attachment reliability across the built-in providers, and makes the active route easier to see in the Hub.

What's changed

  • Refreshed the built-in ChatGPT and Grok chat controls, plus attachment controls for ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini. Uploads with declared readiness checks now wait for the provider to show the file as ready before sending a prompt, and ambiguous file inputs fail safely.
  • Fixed background self-healing checks interrupting active chats. These checks no longer open attachment menus or send Escape while a provider is responding.
  • Improved new-chat and temporary-chat handling. A failed navigation or submit now stops the request instead of treating an old conversation as the new chat, and ChatGPT temporary chats retain their verified identity when the provider replaces a provisional conversation URL.
  • Updated response detection for current ChatGPT and Grok layouts, and kept managed chat windows separate from shared provider views during navigation and session refresh.
  • The Hub now shows the active mode and its configured primary service, such as General (ChatGPT).

The Chrome extension remains at v1.2.0 in this desktop release.

Transgentic v2.1.0 — Temporary Chat

Choose a tag to compare

@patiparnne patiparnne released this 15 Sep 18:39

What’s new

  • Provider-native Temporary Chat: ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini use their native temporary or incognito chat modes. Grok and other unsupported connectors do not emulate the feature.
  • Shared mode preferences: Settings apply across Quick Prompt, MCP/SSE, and /v1 requests. General and Coding default to enabled; Image, Video, and Music default to disabled.
  • Verified activation: Transgentic checks temporary mode before sending content. A preferred request uses normal chat when the provider lacks support and reports that outcome. temporary_chat: true requires verified native mode and fails otherwise.
  • WebView completions: Eligible WebView providers can now serve /v1 requests. Requests use a fresh isolated browser conversation by default. Clients can retain a session with conversation_id, reset it with new_thread, or end it through the conversation endpoint. JSON and buffered streaming responses include actual chat-mode metadata.
  • Separate log categories: Logs have Normal and Temporary categories, separate counts, and confirmed category clearing. Transgentic saves request and response logs locally for both categories; generated files continue saving to the Library.
  • UI improvements: Updated the Hub, Settings, browser header, Quick Prompt, and answer dialog.

Privacy clarification: Temporary Chat uses the provider’s native mode. It does not prevent Transgentic from saving local conversation logs.

Transgentic v2.0.0

Choose a tag to compare

@patiparnne patiparnne released this 11 Sep 16:23

Transgentic 2.0 introduces multimodal request attachments, a unified completion gateway, CLI-service orchestration, and resilient webview recipe uploads.

Highlights

  • Add request-scoped file attachments across MCP Streamable HTTP, legacy SSE, mode/provider routes, supported CLI providers, and OpenAI-compatible completions.
  • Add edit_image and edit_video tools for media editing with supplied files.
  • Add OpenAI-compatible /v1/models and /v1/chat/completions endpoints, including standard image URL and inline file content parts.
  • Add capability-aware routing so providers that cannot accept the supplied files are skipped automatically; explicitly selected incompatible providers return clear errors.
  • Add secure attachment staging, validation, cleanup, duplicate-request hashing, URL/SSRF safeguards, and loopback-only host-path support.
  • Add attachment delivery to Double Agent Main and Co pipelines.
  • Add Codex CLI image support, document staging for CLI services, and attachment-aware provider orchestration.
  • Add Quick Prompt attachments with a compact square thumbnail/file-card strip that scrolls horizontally.
  • Add resilient recipe upload automation:
    • Uses direct native file inputs where available.
    • Supports minimal semantic reveal steps when providers create inputs dynamically.
    • Verifies provider upload readiness before entering or submitting a prompt.
    • Cleans up safely after cancelled or failed uploads.
  • Add Visual Inspector attachment-flow recording, editing, reordering, undo, and safe non-submitting tests.
  • Add attachment-aware recipe healing and history/version support.
  • Improve MCP caller profiles, cancellation, progress notifications, response outcomes, and provider-fallback reporting.
  • Expand CLI service discovery, configuration, runtime management, and UI controls.

Breaking changes

  • The audio mode is now named music.
  • Writing routing is consolidated under the General route configuration.
  • mode_routes.json now uses schema version 2; update custom route configurations accordingly.
  • Clients integrating with Transgentic’s MCP or completion APIs should review attachment descriptors and updated response behavior.

Upgrade notes

  • Update custom configurations from audio to music.
  • Review custom route files for schema-version-2 compatibility.
  • Existing recipes remain text-only unless they explicitly declare inputAttachments.
  • File attachments are sent unchanged to selected providers and may persist in provider-side histories; use them only where appropriate.

Verification

  • 491 automated tests passed, with 9 live-provider tests intentionally skipped.
  • TypeScript, Vite, and Electron builds passed.
  • Publication checks passed.
