I'm migrating away from macOS, switching to a fully Linux-based setup, and one piece I still needed was a handy way to convert high-resolution Apple Lossless tracks from Bandcamp (24/32 bit) to a more storage friendly 16 bit format. This piece of software did the trick easily, maintained all the metadata and cover art, and organized the files into my preferred, iTunes style directory structure (<albumartist>/<album>/<track> <title>).

I have been using Fre:ac for 10+ years, I think, under debian; i used to use Exact Audio Copy under windows before that; i think Fre:ac is a great replacement.
