RevFly 1.0.5 Beta
What's new
- Pick a mic when yours isn't connected. If the microphone you chose in Settings is unplugged, RevFly no longer switches silently to another one, such as slow-to-start Bluetooth AirPods. The pill asks which mic to use, with a dropdown that stays short however many inputs you have. Your choice is saved and recording starts right away. When a mic is silent or sends no audio, the pill offers the same choice instead of only an error.
- "No speech heard" alert. If nothing is heard for the first few seconds of a recording, for example because your mic is muted, the pill turns amber and an error sound plays, so you notice even when you aren't looking at the screen. The alert clears as soon as you start talking. Choose 5, 10 or 15 seconds, or turn it off, in Settings › General › No-speech alert.
- Separate start, stop and error sounds. "Sound feedback" is now three toggles in Settings › General › Behavior: Start sound, Stop sound and Error sound. For example, you can keep the error alert and turn off the chimes. Your previous setting carries over to all three.
Fixes
- The start chime no longer ends up in your recording. It's filtered out of the captured audio before transcription.
- Long messages on the pill are no longer cut off in full-screen apps.
- macOS no longer slows RevFly down while it's in the background, which could delay the pill.

RevFly 1.0.4 Beta
Improvements
- Copy text from History and Audio Lab. Transcripts, translations, chunk details, the action trace, and Audio Lab results can now be selected with the mouse. A copy icon next to each text or section header copies it to the clipboard. Selecting text in a History row no longer collapses the row.
Fixes
- No more lost translations when translation isn't set up. If the translation service is missing its API key, endpoint URL or model, the translate hotkey (or the launch hotkey with Automatic translation) no longer records. The pill tells you right away what's missing and where to add it, in Settings › Translations, instead of pasting untranslated text after you've finished talking. Local services such as Ollama and LM Studio don't need an API key.
- Translation always uses your chosen service. RevFly no longer falls back to translating with a local Whisper model, which failed when that model wasn't downloaded.

RevFly 1.0.2 Beta
Fixes
- Long messages in the pill are no longer cut off. Warnings like "Microphone Not Found", which name two devices and explain what to do, could be clipped after the first lines. The pill window now grows to fit the whole message.

RevFly 1.0.1 Beta
Improvements
- Beta badge. Settings › Updates now shows a Beta tag next to your version while RevFly is in beta.
- Clearer audio chunking hint. In Settings › Transcription, the Audio chunking hint now says what happens when it's on (long recordings are cut at pauses and transcribed piece by piece), not only when it's off.
Behind the scenes
- Every release now runs lint, the type-check and the full test suite before anything is built, so a failing test stops a release.

RevFly 1.0.0 Beta
RevFly reaches 1.0.0 Beta. Version numbers stay plain from here on (1.0.1, 1.0.2…), so auto-update and Homebrew work as before.
Fixes
- The welcome guide opens on a fresh install again. On macOS the guide could be created during launch and then stay hidden. It now opens once RevFly has finished starting, so new users see it right away.
Full Changelog: v0.1.20...v1.0.0
RevFly v0.1.20
Improvements
- Clearer last step in the welcome guide. While the speech model downloads, the Press to talk button shows the download ("Downloading model 42%") and fills as it goes, so it's clear why it isn't available yet. The step text also says real recording unlocks when the download finishes. Your hotkey still runs the practice demo in the meantime.

RevFly v0.1.19
What's new
- Open at login. A new switch in Settings › General › Behavior starts RevFly automatically when you log in. It's off unless you turn it on.
- Settings in clearer tabs. General was getting long, so it's now split up:
- Transcription has the speech model, memory use and audio chunking.
- Text has the text cleanup and confidential-text masking options.
- History combines the former Storage and Logs tabs.
- Slimmer pills. The Single line, Compact, Capsule and Dot styles now fit their content instead of leaving empty space, and the Compact styles center both lines.
Improvements
- In the welcome guide, the Press to talk button stays off until the speech model has downloaded. Your hotkey still runs the practice demo meanwhile.
brew uninstall --zapalso removes the login item.

RevFly v0.1.18
What's new
- Modifier-only hotkeys. You can now use a combination of modifier keys, such as Option+Shift or Control+Option, as a hotkey on macOS. Hold-to-talk works with them the same as with Right Option.
- Easier hotkey recording. Hold the keys down one after another and the hotkey is saved when you let go. One key, two keys or a full combo like Control+Shift+K all record the same way.
- RevFly in the Dock while its windows are open. Settings and the welcome guide now show up in the Dock and Cmd+Tab, so they're easy to get back to. RevFly returns to the menu bar when you close them.
Full Changelog: v0.1.17...v0.1.18
RevFly v0.1.17
Fixes
- Hotkey recording handles modifier combos. Pressing Control, Option or Shift on the way to a combo (for example Control+Shift+K) no longer ends the recording early on the first key. A single modifier, such as Right Option, is recorded when you release it.
- Option + letter records as the key you pressed. Option+K is now saved as Alt+K, not the special character macOS types (˚).
Install
- Homebrew:
brew install --cask eotsevych/tap/revflyno longer prints deprecation warnings.

RevFly v0.1.16
Fixes
- Welcome guide: changing a hotkey no longer spills out of the window. Click a hotkey to change it right in its row: press the new keys, or pick a preset (Right ⌥, Right ⌃, ⌘ ⇧ Space, or Off for translation). Esc cancels. While you choose, your current hotkeys don't start a recording.
