@equwal equwal released this 26 Sep 19:51

An "Anki" button under a selected word sends the word and its line to SubRead Anki. Flash card apps can ask for the subtitle line of now. The app is smaller: R8 removes code that it does not use.

A tap on a word pauses the player at once. When the finger lifts, the word goes to the dictionary. The "Look up" button is gone. A caption app can send live lines to the panel.

"Look up" pauses the player. A button on the panel starts it again, or pauses it.

"Share" opens the share sheet of Android with the selection, for an app that has no entry in the text selection menu.

A slider in the app sets how much of the player shows through the panel. The text stays black.

A setting shows the line before and the line after the line of now, small and grey. The panel grows to fit them.

Reader apps can read the position of the player and control it. KOReader with the SubRead plugin turns the pages with the audiobook: content://space.subread.overlay.player/state, see the README.

The last button of the screen opens the SubRead app, or its download page when the app is not installed.

First release. Shows the lines of an .srt file over the media player that plays (Voice, VLC, mpv, YouTube, podcast apps), in time with it. Tap a word to select it, drag to select more, and send it to a dictionary. No network permission.

Tested on one device (Viwoods AiPaper, Android 16) with the tests of the repository. Not yet tested with each player by hand.
