Native SwiftUI manager for local Apple Container. Requires Apple Silicon, macOS 26+, Apple Container 1.5.0. Independent app; not an Apple product.
New: reviewed container duplication, image startup defaults, HTTPS Registry V2 catalog/tag browsing and deployment, actual disk usage and selective cleanup. Includes lifecycle/batch operations, full-window details/charts, files, snapshots, Docker Hub search, architecture selection, OCI archives, builds, projects and reviewed Docker conversion. Three medium-severity security findings were fixed with regression tests and independent review.
Tested only on the developer’s own M4 Mac mini, 16 GiB, macOS 26.7.1. No second-Mac test. Backend QA: 23 PASS / 0 FAIL / 6 explicit SKIP; native language/theme/size matrix: 170 steps; recorded workflow: 68 steps; real creation inputs/readback and quick smoke passed. Final stability and artifact results are in the attached Validation.json.
Download the DMG, verify SHA-256 and drag the app to Applications. Connect the official engine through Container Engine. Unzip the optional Quick Start bundle, open Terminal in its folder and run:

bash quick-test.sh --runThe first command is read-only. The second creates a temporary loopback HTTP service, verifies exec/log access and stop/start persistence, then cleans up only its resources. Add --keep to explore the service in the app and follow the printed cleanup commands. No Xcode, Python or sudo needed.
Ad hoc signed; no Developer ID or Apple notarization. Clean installation, genuine engine upgrades, external private HTTPS registry success and full manual VoiceOver acceptance remain unverified. Docker conversion supports a documented subset; automatic data/local-image migration, restart supervision and cutover/rollback are not included. AI integration is deferred.

Native SwiftUI manager for local Apple Container. Requires Apple Silicon, macOS 26+, Apple Container 1.5.0. This independent app is not an Apple product.
- Download the DMG below, verify its SHA-256, and drag Container Desk to Applications.
- Open Container Engine to connect to or install the supported official engine. The engine is a separate download.
- Unzip the optional Quick Start ZIP and open Terminal in that folder:

The second creates one temporary loopback HTTP container, verifies HTTP, exec/log access and stop/start persistence, then removes its own resources. No Xcode, Python or sudo is needed. Use --run --keep to explore the running fixture in the app, then follow the printed cleanup commands. The guide also includes a GUI-only Python web server, a Projects example, troubleshooting and safe reporting.
New since 0.1.2 downloads: full resource management and batch selection; expanded container dashboards, logs and clickable web links; Docker Hub search with ARM64/AMD64 inspection and unified download/deployment; image builds and OCI archives; files, snapshots, Registry push, Projects and reviewed Docker conversion; saved sidebar order, zoom and Reduce Motion support. The creation-sheet layout hang is fixed. Process output and tar extraction now have resource bounds. Unsupported Compose fields are rejected; Docker volume data needs separate migration. AI integration is deferred.
Preview status: ad hoc signed, without Developer ID or Apple notarization. macOS may block opening; follow the guide’s per-app instructions. The repository remains private, so testers need access and GitHub sign-in. Prior full QA: 17 groups passed, 0 failed, 5 environment-dependent groups skipped; 56 native UI steps. Core/platform suites and the new quick smoke were rerun for this release. Second-Mac install/upgrade, full accessibility, 60-minute soak and real private-registry acceptance remain pending. This smoke test is not full UI or installation acceptance.

Native SwiftUI manager for local Apple Container on Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 26 or later. This is an independent developer preview, not an Apple product or a verified stable release.
Features
- Actual Mac specifications and live container status, metrics and logs.
- Create, start, stop and delete containers; CPU dropdown, synchronized memory slider/numeric input, and downloaded-image dropdown.
- English, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese interfaces; no demo mode.
- Official engine installation/update workflow with workload protection and explicit same-version migration for recognized per-user installations.
- Read-only image, network and volume inventories.
Verification and limitations
29 core checks, 13 isolated installer workflow tests, real container allocation and lifecycle smoke tests passed. The isolated installer tests simulate external operations; they do not prove a completed clean system install. Clean installation, upgrade and full interactive UI/accessibility acceptance remain pending. Suspected major issue UI-001: the QA creation sheet became unresponsive with the main thread in SwiftUI layout. Only Apple Container 1.5.0 is on the tested compatibility list; other updates are deferred.
Ad hoc signed; no Developer ID or Apple notarization. macOS may block the downloaded app. There is no remote-host management, interactive terminal, closed-app updater or independent guest-kernel updater. The repository remains private until all required acceptance gates pass with no unresolved critical/major defects. This Release stays marked Pre-release.
Downloads and testing
Container-Desk-0.1.2-arm64-preview.dmg: application installer image.Container-Desk-0.1.2-Test-Kit.zip: the same DMG, an older source snapshot,Check-Mac.command, testing instructions and checksums. The script inspects the Mac and writes a local report; it does not install software, stop services or upload reports. It is optional for normal installation and may be removed from Releases after acceptance evidence is saved.SHA256SUMS.txt: checksums for the DMG and Test Kit ZIP.- GitHub-generated source archives correspond to the
v0.1.2-previewtag, not currentmain.
On the second test Mac, read 先讀我.md in the Test Kit before running Check-Mac.command; report the result and any failed step without passwords or private keys. The Test Kit instructions are currently in Traditional Chinese.
Current main uses Apache-2.0 and includes updated screenshots and multilingual READMEs. The existing source tag and Test Kit predate the license/documentation additions; their archives have not been replaced. New packaging produces a matching source ZIP, source-commit manifest and checksums alongside the DMG. These new paired packages are not assets of this existing Release.
