403 from outside the US?

I'm currently abroad and getting a 403 when I attempt to connect to the API. All is well if I use a VPN to get a US IP address.

Is the API actually denying based on IP being outside the US? (I'm in a Western European country.)

As part of ERCOT security precautions, specific regions are blocked from *.ercot.com.

Is there any way to make a request that certain regions be unblocked? I don't have this problem with any other such service globally.

Since the "security" is easily circumvented by use of a commercially available VPN, it's not doing much anyway except making access to your data require an extra step.

Thanks for asking. Selfishly I'd say Western Europe seems pretty safe.

But isn't security the point of signing up and using tokens?Any schmuck anywhere can pony up for a VPN that makes it look like they're in the US. I use APIs from the US, Europe and Australia, and have never run into this particular problem.
