Ergohaven RMK Firmware v0.1.8-rc.1
K:04 host BLE power-saving test
This prerelease contains standalone firmware for K:04, K:04 Mini, and K:04 Micro.
Changes
- After 2 minutes without input, the host BLE link switches to low-duty connection parameters without disconnecting.
- After the selected timeout (10 minutes to 5 hours, 30 minutes by default), the keyboard fully disconnects from the PC.
- A host suspend request disconnects the host BLE link immediately.
- A key, encoder, trackball, or touchpad event starts reconnection, and the first event is retained until the PC reconnects.
- Changing Host disconnect timeout in Bluetooth settings takes effect immediately.
What to test
- Overnight battery drain of the central and peripheral halves while the PC is on and while it is asleep.
- Reconnection delay and first-input delivery after the full timeout.
- Wake behavior from keys, encoders, trackballs, and touchpads on Windows, macOS, and Linux.
- Several timeout values, including changing the value while connected.
Flash both halves with the matching left/right UF2 files from one archive. Qube firmware is not included in this prerelease.
Ergohaven RMK Firmware v0.1.7
Features
- Added firmware-native Universal Symbols and Russian letters to dynamic Combo and Tap Dance actions
- Added persistent per-combo activation layers configurable from Entropy
- Advertised exact firmware update package identities for all 14 supported Ergohaven keyboard and Qube profiles
Fixes
- Suspended K:04 trackball and touchpad modules during automatic sleep while preserving their selected type and settings after wake
- Stabilized repeated macro saves, split BLE traffic, pointing-mode changes, and K:04 thumb-cluster geometry
Removed
- Removed RMK firmware and release builds for the standalone Trackball Mini v3.0, Mini v3.1, and Royale devices
Ergohaven RMK Firmware v0.1.6
Features
- Includes the firmware-native Universal Symbols and Russian letter actions introduced in the v0.1.5 release candidate.
- Restores explicit per-side K:04 module selection: None, Encoder, Trackball, or Touchpad. Only the selected module remains active.
- Keeps the BLE sleep manager alive across reconnects and profile changes, with wakeup from keyboard and pointing-device activity.
Fixes
- Prevents automatic blue pairing on bonded profiles; pairing starts only for an empty profile or after an explicit bond clear.
- Prevents USB suspend and bus-state changes from blocking the HID/input path, including cancellation of writes already waiting on the endpoint.
- Fixes K:04 trackball report starvation and split-link backlog during continuous movement.
- Hardens touchpad idle wakeup, charging/ATI frame filtering, two-finger gesture confirmation, and stale-state cleanup.

Qube and the remaining keyboard packages will be added to this same release after K:04 Series hardware validation.
The experimental touchpad RDY-over-P1.09 change is intentionally not included. Every archive contains the exact build commit (798b074fcb2420156c03033d6b26b2babb0f73fd) and SHA-256 checksums for its UF2 files.
Ergohaven RMK Firmware v0.1.5 RC1
Features
- Added modular firmware-native Universal Symbols for EN/RU punctuation, with autonomous Toggle, Sync, English, Russian, PC, and macOS controls.
- Added firmware-native Russian
х,б,ю, andъactions with normal Shift, One-shot Shift, and Caps Word behavior. - Advertised Universal Symbols through the Ergohaven native key-action capability protocol on every bundled Ergohaven keyboard profile.
Compatibility
- Universal Symbols work without Entropy by sending standard HID keys and temporarily managing the EN/RU layout in firmware.
- Entropy v0.3.2-rc.1 adds the matching picker UI and optional automatic Layout Sync for supported desktops.
- Updating from v0.1.4 does not require storage migration, pairing reset, or settings reset.
