First public release of WinGPUDoctor, a read-only Windows GPU/display diagnostics CLI: Read → Explain → Report.

What it does

  • Reports the Windows version/build, the computer manufacturer/model, WMI-reported video controllers and their matched driver provider/version/date.
  • Lists active DisplayConfig paths with exact DisplayConfig → SetupAPI → WMI adapter correlation, plus informational findings that point to evidence in the same report.
  • Shows a privacy-projected Markdown or JSON preview. Local export is opt-in and never overwrites an existing file.
  • No telemetry, upload, background service, configuration change or elevation request.
  • It does not certify GPU health, and display topology does not show which GPU an application renders on.

Requirements

  • Windows 11 x64, the only platform physically tested so far.
  • .NET 10 x64 runtime (Microsoft.NETCore.App). The package is framework-dependent and has no installer.
  • An ordinary console. Do not use "Run as administrator".

Quick start

Extract the ZIP to a local folder, open a console in WinGPUDoctor-0.1.0-win-x64, then run:

Review every report before sharing it: text filtering cannot guarantee anonymity. --help and the README describe the exit codes.

Unsigned binaries and verification

  • The v0.1.0 binaries are not code signed. Windows and Microsoft Defender SmartScreen may warn when you download or run them.

  • Download WinGPUDoctor only from this GitHub Release, and verify the SHA-256 before extracting:

    Expected: 65162553242aea18e5b1cebe963b769de76ebd7f7729d360ae151fa984ce63a8. The same value is in WinGPUDoctor-0.1.0-win-x64.zip.sha256.

  • A matching checksum only shows that your file is identical to the one published here. It does not prove who published it, and it does not show that the file is free of malware.

Validation and limits

  • Built from 62e25b7b12d04499f7b39bae417418d33cf297ee, the commit tagged v0.1.0.
  • Hosted CI passed 305/305 tests and the schema checks.
  • The package was validated non-live and live on one Windows 11 x64 laptop with a single active internal display path. External displays, clone/extend/hot-plug, other GPU configurations, AMD, ARM64, remote or virtual sessions and other machines are unvalidated.
  • The report schema is 0.2.0. STATUS.md and docs/VALIDATION.md in the repository record the evidence.
  • Report security issues through the repository's private vulnerability reporting; see SECURITY.md.
