v1.26.0
A large UI/UX pass, and a lot of bug fixes that the work on it turned up.
Fixes you'll notice
Settings had four separate bugs. Opening Settings and clicking Cancel without touching anything always asked "Discard changes?". Saving without ever opening the Query History section silently wiped both of its values — a max-plans of 50 came back as 10 with the default metric blanked. Editing a section, clicking to another one and back lost the edit. Invalid colours refused the save without showing you which colour, and the stored palette could lose a colour you had picked.
Copy Repro and Run Repro went dead after every execute, Advice could act on a plan you weren't looking at, and right-clicking a plan tab did nothing when the plan came from running a query — which is the usual way to get one.
Numbers that lied. A 4.7s → 2ms improvement printed as "100.0% faster". Sub-millisecond durations rounded to "0ms", reporting a query that ran as one that didn't. Costs printed as 3526.210000, and a real-but-tiny cost showed as 0.
A Query Store correctness bug: Avg mode was summing per-execution averages for the "Others" aggregate, so on an instance with many databases that one number dominated every card's scale.
Three wait categories were below the contrast floor — Buffer IO was effectively invisible against the page.
Also: Compare Plans silently doing nothing with one plan open, exception text parking in the status strip forever, grouped rows showing 0 for Query ID and Plan ID, a connect-dialog race that could save an unvalidated server, and a restored time-slicer range collapsing to zero width.
Changes you might mistake for bugs
- The Query Store healthy count now excludes read-only stores, so it reads lower than before on servers that have them. That is the fix, not a data change.
- Scrollbars are overlay rails now — a thin line that widens when you point at it.
- The MCP
compare_planstext changed in the 99.95–100% band only. Everything else it emits, and all Robot Advice JSON, is unchanged.
What the UI pass did
Every colour now resolves to a documented token, and the emoji-and-glyph mix is one icon set. Chrome stops eating the window: a single scrolling tab row and fixed toolbar slots instead of wrapping to three rows. The properties panel collapses per-thread stats into one expander instead of hundreds of rows and gains a filter box and a real copy menu. Advice for Humans is severity-scored cards — the copy output is byte-for-byte what it was, because people paste it into tickets. Plan Comparison is a real metric diff. QS Overview is small multiples behind a Total/Avg toggle. A session now separates views (editor, Overview) from documents (plans). The wait palette is laid out so hue carries the family and lightness ladders within it, which survives red-green colour deficiency. The minimap is a corner overlay instead of a panel covering the plan. MCP and proxy settings moved out of the About box into Settings > Integrations.
Known issues
- Ctrl+1 / Ctrl+2 don't work if you run ZoomIt, which claims those globally.
- macOS double-click to open a .sqlplan is unverified. The wiring is in place and reviewed, but nobody has run it on a Mac yet. If it doesn't work for you, File > Open does.
