TyrianGbaPoc v90
This release advances the GBA music path from approximate short wavetables to
source-driven adaptive OPL2 samples while retaining the production LOW
Detail / Normal Speed gameplay profile, normal damage, normal campaign
equipment, and no stress-loadout override.
Highlights
- All 41 tracks retain all nine authored OPL2 source channels.
- Original LDS/OPL2 patches are rendered offline through the vendored
OpenTyrian/DOSBox OPL core at 49,716 Hz, then band-limited to the native
15,768 Hz Maxmod output rate with adaptive root zones, attack, LFO and
original percussion timbres. - Fixes the audible gaps in JukeBox tracks 11, 15 and 16: sustained patches now
loop correctly, while finite tonal patches follow their authored note hold
and natural envelope tail instead of being cut at 420 ms. - Music remains at the calibrated 90% presentation level and gameplay/UI sound
effects at 70%. - The title screen build identifier now includes the seven-character Git hash
and eight-digit build date, rendered in an isolated blue palette slot:
AprTyrianGba-3c1eeaa-20260823. - Includes the Game Over spacing correction and the production adaptive
presentation rules accumulated since v89.
Validation
- Complete asset rebuild and LOW release build: PASS.
- Audio catalog: 41 tracks, 334 calibrated sources, 512 sustain-loop zones,
301 finite-tonal zones, 127 percussion zones, and zero clipped PCM samples. - Calibration mean absolute RMS error: 0.022327 dB.
- 44 generated IT modules: 967 sample headers, all music PCM at 15,768 Hz;
sample pointers and loop bounds valid. - JukeBox automation: playback active, all 44 modules available, and circular
previous/next switching passed. - Native 240x160 title capture verified that only the build identifier changed
to blue; menu item colours remain unchanged. - ROM: 33,472,076 bytes (31.920 MiB), 82,356 bytes below the 32 MiB limit.
SHA-256 checksums are provided as a separate release asset.
Notes
- A
.savfile is not bundled; the game creates normal SRAM state on first
use. - This is an independent fan port and not an official Tyrian release. Tyrian
