Octate v1.1.1

Release type: Patch release
Previous release: v1.1.0

Octate v1.1.1 corrects the npm-facing release presentation and makes package metadata and documentation links consistent with the published project.

Fixes

  • Replace the stale development-version banner with the current package version and direct links to the changelog and release notes.
  • Point npm's Homepage field to the official Octate website.
  • Use absolute GitHub URLs for documentation links in the README so links work when the README is rendered on npm, where repository documentation files are not bundled into the package.
  • Add a release-metadata check to the packaging verification step to detect mismatched versions, incorrect homepage URLs, missing release notes, and broken relative documentation links.
  • Generalize the GitHub Release workflow so it can validate versioned release notes and explicitly dispatch npm publication, while guarding against duplicate publication.

Verification

The release candidate is validated through GitHub Actions:

  • TypeScript typecheck
  • Biome lint
  • Unit and integration tests
  • Release metadata checks
  • Build and package verification

Installation

npm install -g @tiverse/octate@1.1.1

Octate v1.1.0

Release date: 2026-10-17
Previous release: v1.0.0

Octate v1.1.0 focuses on review correctness, repository safety, configuration predictability, and trustworthy results in interactive and automated workflows.

Highlights

Review the intended Git snapshot

  • Corrected staged, working-tree, commit, and revision-range diff handling.
  • Improved root-commit, multi-hunk, end-of-file newline, and file-mode diff behavior.
  • Historical reviews now resolve source context against the reviewed revision, including cross-file imports, TypeScript path aliases, and common npm/pnpm workspace mappings.
  • TUI source excerpts and diffs stay aligned with the selected review scope.

More predictable configuration

  • Configuration layers only override fields they explicitly declare.
  • Invalid optional global configuration falls back to defaults with a warning.
  • Explicit CLI policy options take precedence without accidentally resetting other configured review policies.
  • The checked-in and generated configuration references better match the validated schema.

Repository, cache, and cancellation hardening

  • Improved linked-worktree discovery and symlink containment.
  • Hardened Unicode-aware binary detection and ignore-file handling.
  • Corrected cache accounting and mutation behavior, initialization serialization, configuration hashing, and project identity.
  • Improved cancellation cleanup and re-review lifecycle behavior.

More transparent results

  • Skipped or failed filesystem diagnostics are surfaced as review warnings instead of being silently indistinguishable from a complete analysis.
  • The latest re-review result determines the final blocking exit status.
  • Corrected SARIF project metadata and documentation links.
  • Removed unsupported guarantees about source privacy and false-positive rates from project documentation.

Verification

The release candidate passed the repository's GitHub Actions checks:

  • TypeScript typecheck
  • Biome lint
  • Unit and integration tests
  • Build and distribution-package verification

Octate v1.0.0 - Terminal-Native AI Code Review CLI

Octate combines deterministic repository intelligence with LLM reasoning to produce high-value, evidence-backed code review findings.

Highlights & Key Capabilities

  • Deterministic Repository Analysis: Git root discovery, monorepo support, ignore pattern filtering, and concrete syntax tree parsing via Tree-sitter.
  • Symbol & Reference Graph: Extract functions, methods, classes, and cross-file reference graphs to contextualize code changes without token bloat.
  • Multi-Reviewer DAG: Structural, semantic, and security reviewers orchestrate parallel specialized reviews.
  • Two-Stage Critic Gate: Rigid evidence validation and deterministic hard floor eliminate low-value noise and false positives.
  • Interactive Terminal UI (TUI): Beautiful, responsive keyboard-driven TUI built with Ink and zero-dependency ANSI syntax highlighting.
  • CI/CD & Automation Ready: Full --json, --sarif (v2.1.0 with GitHub Code Scanning compatibility), and --quiet support.
  • Diagnostic Doctor: octate doctor checks environment dependencies, static tools, Tree-sitter WASM grammars, and NVIDIA model connectivity.
